Wise words as ever from the logical and thoughtful one.

If Rafa's stupid enough to let Riise go without a replacement I'd be very suprised.

I didnt say he would'nt buy another LB did I?
I said I think he would be leaving, is that ok with you?
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Riissse for some reason can no longer play left back.  He just hoofs the thing to none nearly every time he gets it.  Gets caught out of position to much.  On the other hand he has done a good job when hes been playing left mid. I hope we get a new left back in the summer.  Sickings me to see Warnock playing so well at Blackburn and then seeing us stuck with Riisee as the only left back lol shocking.

I think this was/is the general consensus

People keep mentioning Warnock, but I don't believe the lad ever played more than about 5 consecutive games for us due to his p*ss-poor injury record. Furthermore, as committed as he was, his tactical ineptitude and limited ability meant he could never stay at our club as anything other than back-up.

In light of this, we should hardly be lauding him as "the one that got away."

As for Riise - the fact is he should never play leftback again if we can help it. Arbeloa should play there from here on in, and John can occupy the left midfield slot until such time as a better option comes along. (I.E. Kewell or Garcia return to fitness, or Gonzalez makes a monumental improvement.)

Well, I guess John Arne's experience showed tonight.
Must have been a factor in Rafa's decision.

Had a terrific game - well done lad.

He may not be the best left back or best left midfielder, but he is definitely a great player to have at our disposal.

Should not be sold.

Riise is a fine resource and does the job, but it someone came in with 15 mil then I guess it's farewell.

The team is confirmed as one of the most consistent in the world. This round was a display. We can lure almost any player next year's squad.

Some said the likes of Deco could be available for less than that.

I dont think Riise will go this summer. Plus i dont think we would get 15 million for him. 8 million. tops.

Of all of our players I would say that Riise is one of the safest.  Why try and fix something that is not broken?  Aurilio and Riise are sufficient for leftback.

Keep the ginger number 6!
His goals are breath-taking always good to watch, how many LB's score as many a season than him, as said before don't fix something that isn't broken
Name a much much better LB in the EPL (don't say A.Cole cz pennant made him look ordinary last night)

Been a long time since this was brought up.

I thought Riise was our weakest link again today.

Sadly lacking going forward, and in the second half Walcott got a lot of joy on their right hand side.

Glad Alvaro is back, I think he is a much better bet than Riise at left back.

Just hope Rafa resists the temptation to play a left footed midfielder in Riise, as he give very little.

was absolutely terrible riise today. He had some good chances, but his passes were awful. Eboue gave him a hard time.

He wasnt great today he seemed to get a bit panicky when he got the ball and a lot of arsenals attacks were down his side.

They targeted him
