That's a good reason, tbf. :D

WHat I don't understand is how anyone with a basic understanding of zonal marking can blame Aurelio for the goal. The header was in Agger's zone, ergo it was Agger's mistake.

If you haven't noticed, we don't track players anymore.

That's for Bolton and other sh*te sides.  :D

Just to clarify Murphy0151's point about "you lot making him laugh", he is no doubt referring to the fact that as he probably goes all around Europe attending Liverpool fixtures, it's a bit rich for a guy in Australia (El Sting') telling him to support the team. Though I disagree with him on the John Arne Riise issue, he does have something of a point it has to be said.

This crops up from time to time on here about "not getting behind the lads" and "In Rafa we trust" and all that jazz. People need to remember this is a discussion forum and it's OK to voice an opinion. It's also OK to disagree with each other, that's sort of the point really.
The ironic part about it, is sitting in Australia and telling somebody who goes to loads of games to "support the team" is just about as daft as telling people who don't go to the game but who disagree with your opinions, that as a non regular attendor and an OOTer his opinion holds less weight.

As an aside Riise is a good player IMHO, and as a non-attendor and an OOTer I think Murphy is wrong on this. He does support the team though.

I think that people on here need to have a good look at themselves.

Murf has been to more games this season than most people on here have in their lives. So to tell him to support the team is a joke.

As BigMick says, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and Murf sings Riises' name at the game like all the others, however he thinks (and I agree) that he is the weakest link in our back four.

If people are too short sighted to see past the ten minutes of highlights per week they see whilst "supporting the team" and look at the bigger picture of improving the team, then thats their problem.

You are only as strong as your weakest link, and at the present time that is Riise. Thats not to say he wont improve, just that he brings nothing to the party in terms of defending, (Sami is constantly covering him) and attacking is great when he goes solo, but his distribution needs work.

Mick, I'd be just as big a supporter if I was able to go and watch than I am now.

Just because I'm from another country and can't go to a match does not put me down the pecking order in terms of support.

I cry, I cheer, I laugh, I love, I celebrate, I grieve as a Liverpool supporter.

It's high time that we respect everyone that is a supporter and stop this ridiculous squabbling that goes on in here and in life.

I totally agree with you Leon, and I'm not doubting the guy as a fan.

I did not understand why he continues to call Riise shiite, when he is not. If we had more supporters "supporting" the team, (which was in the context of which i originally wrote it) then we don't need to use derogatory language at our players.

Murphy your right on that one, Riise does waste posession too often by hitting long balls down the pitch, but he is not the only one. Hyypia does it virtually every time he has the ball and so did Kromkamp on Saturday. It frustrates the hell out of me as well.
Its a major reason why we are far better with Alonso in the side as he drops in front of the back four and picks up the ball off the defenders the majority of the time, and obviously then he uses the ball properly.
I know that you dont rate Riise but his good points outweigh the bad ones comfortably for me.

Sami's distribution has been terrible for pretty much all of his time here, I always hope that he will lay it off when he has possesion.

It was refreshing to see Danny Agger carry the ball into the opposition half and try a few one two's when there was nothing but a long ball punt on.

I think you could really see the 2m that Sheff Utd had reduced their width by in that game. No doubt their game plan will be to keep it compact and tight at home to try and get as many points as possible ot try and stay up.

Yeah i noticed that they had narrowed the pitch, and had left the grass to grow longer, every trick in the book eh.
Agger looks great in posession and has shown in his few appearances alot of promise bringing the ball forward.
Its amazing how much someone breaking from the back like that causes panic in the opposition and creates space for others.
