This is a circus

How could I ever leave this forum after a week like this?

Sorry, but the guy is still a spoilt, big-headed :censored:...

I think there's a problem with Rafa and SG... Rafa doesnt trust SG... His up and down performances... His public statements... His commitment to the cause... His big-headedness... His public questioning of LFC's ambitions, progress and teammates all undermine LFC and what RP and RB are working hard to achieve... Would you build your team on a guy who wants to leave the 2nd/3rd week you arrive in a job? And a year later makes a public statement that he wants to leave?

This club is slowly becoming a joke... It's slowly becoming SGFC... The players Rafa buy have to be approved by SG otherwise he goes... If we lose, he goes... If the team isn't being built around him, he goes... If the palyers around him arent good enough, he goes... The club continue to do everything to satisfy his whims and caprices... F**king pathetic... I'd rather take £40m if this circus continues...

I dont think this is the end of it... There's a big problem now within the squad, manager and SG that cant be quickly swept under the carpet unless SG makes a grovelling apology to everyone, fans included... There are rifts within the playing staff, manager and SG now... It doesnt take a genius to work it out... If I was in the dressing room, after every bad game, I'd ask SG, so are you leaving tomorrow?

Yet again we'll have a season of pressure on every single player to be at their best including the newcomers... Completely unrealistic... And if we have a bad run, the stories start again... Tired of this circus...

Question is what happens if we finish 5th next season? That's a true test of his commitment to LFC... I think we all know what will happen...

Walk on.

Me too,it must effect the rest of the team,we have just signed 4 good players and 2 or3 more to come in yet still everything has been about SG,i really think this was a good time to sell him and move on.Lets hope he proves us wrong and puts in the best season of his career and just do what hes good at,he must see that we cant go out and sign players for £20 mil everytime, but there again it shouldnt be down to him who we sign thats RB job and the sooner he gets that the better for everyone.

It's all a bit of a joke. I'm not sure who he thinks he is.
The whole of last season I never saw him in the same light after he almost went to Chelsea. This has made it 2x as bad.

He must apologise to all the supporters and promise that this will not happen again, not in January, not next summer.

I agree this has all been a bit ridiculous, and 'circus ' is probably the best way to describe it.

I am happy that he has decided to stay as I genuinely think he is the best midfielder around.  However, as I said on another thread, Carra should still be made captain after all this.  Stevie may be our best player but he is not the best example to others.  He needs to earn back the fans' trust after all this and stepping aside for Carra would be a good start in showing that he doesn't think he's bigger than the club.

That aside, lets get it in perspective.  A lot of people on here still rave about Owen saying we should bring him back.  Lets remember he DID do the dirty.  He buggered off after he said he wouldn't.  People seemed to forgive that after Stevie's announcement yesterday saying 'bring back owen as part of the deal taking gerrard to madrid'.  But at least Gerrard saw the light before its too late.  At least gerrard showed in the end that he just couldn't leave the club, which is more than can be said for a certain mercenary last summer.

I agree with st. michael here,I am not convinced today's events are a good thing for Liverpool.I certainly don't think SG will have the total respect of the rest of the players, but whether Rafa will remove the arm-band is another tricky dilema.

SG put every one in a bad gloomy mood , ok he miss understood  Liverpool wanting him to stay etc , but he threw his teddy in the corner in a temper tantrum and wanted out.
Ive had girlfreinds like that in the past where if they felt things werent going their way theyd say  its over  and id say  "shut the door on the way out then " after the umteenth time  of it happening and now it feels the same  here.
At least he has had the balls to say if it were anyones fault it was his for miss reading Liverpools intentions , although to be honest i dont think it could of been made any clearer by the club in their intentions  towards SG .

St.Michael is 100% spot on when he says its a circus , its worse than watching frigging  "Neighbours" on the beeb  for christs sake . If Gerrard is to have a news conference  he should apologise to the fans to the board the team and especially to Raffa for his behaviour , he has put all of us thru  :censored: taking from chelski supporters ( i live near London )  the scum the blue noses  etc  and a sense of loss in his intentions of leaving , but also a sense of betrayal .
We all thought after Istanbul  the speculation was all over and it was a matter of time  before he signed a new contract  , he was a red thru and thru and  loved the club  more than the smell of gold or silver else where , that it was more important to fight for silver wear at the club he loves than to  leave  and yet he changed his mind once more .
It smelt to me of Wayne  "always a blue "  Rooney   and it stunk to be honest. We have a better midfielder in Alonso  anyway  and IMO  after the about turn and his decision to leave  i was glad it was all over and we new where the club stood .
Now its all changed yet again ,  for all we know  Gerrard could be genuin about this , he could be highly strung  emotionally and felt he was being  genuinely let down by the club  but to publicly state he wanted out  after everthing he had said after Istanbul will take a great deal of apologies and huge commitment in the coming season to regain the faith  and respect of the fans and the players .
I for one have lost faith in Gerrard  yesterday , i thought he and Jamie C were two of the last remaining footballers in the EPL who played for the love of their home team  and loyalty meant everthing to them .........lets see if Gerrard  is true to his word and prove us all wrong , i hope he does and i hope at the end of next season  even if we dont win the league  e shows the commitment  that JC  shows to the club

agree. carra has been rock solid in terms of his performance, and most importantly, his attitude and steadfast loyalty. that's a sign of a true captain. personally, i would like to see carra as the captain. stevie should let his football do the talking and win back the support of the players and fans alike a lot of damage has been done, i wonder if it is ever going to be the same again  :suspect:

This is a mess. I can't believe we are going through this again. Gerrard has now screwed the morale of all players and the manager. I am really worried what is going through the Manager's head right now. He's probably most gutted to have to deal with such players. I just hope he doesn't leave us. I mean everything has to please Gerrard. Yesterday I really wanted him to change his mind and guess what he did and now I am :censored: he did. Many of the fans feel the same. So pray that Rafa's mind has not changed otherwise we are about to loose a good manager. Because of someone who thinks he's LFC. I am gutted by this, terribly. And I know for sure it will happen again next season.

I can't believe I am thinking that the money would have been well spend and we would have been a force instead of dealing with a player who will bitch on everything.
I am also worried because the manager has not commented on this nosense yet.

:D Human League Dont you want us Stevie

You were working as a captain at a football club.
When I met you.
I picked you out, I shook you up, and turned you around
Turned you into someone new
Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet
Success has been so easy for you
But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now
And I can put you back down too
(Parry)
Don't, don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me
Don't, don't you want me?
You know I don't believe you when you say that you don't need me
It's much too late to find
You think you've changed your mind
You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry
(Parry)
Don't you want me Stevie? Don't you want me oh
Don't you want me Stevie? Don't you want me oh
I was working as a captain at a football club
That much is true
But even then I knew I'd find a much better place
Either with or without you
The five years we have had have been such good times
I still love you
But now I think it's time I lived my life on my own
I guess it's just what I must do
(Parry)
Don't you want me Stevie? Don't you want me oh
Don't you want me Stevie? Don't you want me oh
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
