I m sitting in front of the PC the whole damn day...refreshing the news every minute...hoping to see the headline "Alonso signed" pops up...geeeee...comeeee onnnn!!! when is this guy gonna sign man....i got a weak heart....news like "alonso deal off" or "real last minute hijack" will deinitely stop my heart!!

We do need a little more bolstering of our squad though particularly in central defence. I feel Rafa will address these issues as time unfolds.

The highest priority however was to get a quality partner for Gerrard as he was asked to do waaaaay too much last year in midifeld. When he tired, we looked vulnerable and ended up sitting back in games as he was our lone driving force. Alonso and he can now alternate driving the midfield.

If we can provide some other options out wide (Nunez, Garcia) and if Kewell can stay fit we are on our way. Id like to see a withdrawn striker brought in however to give us more options. If we get someone who is quality, I feel Owen leaving may in the end be a blessing in disguise.
