And what the hell was the story with all the horns going off during the game? It was like a load of bees, it better not be like that at World Cup next year, it would do your head in

you should have seen the South Africa match, it was 20 X worse.

they said in the american broadcast that FIFA thought about banning them but the South Africans said it was "part of their football culture"

Surely during the World Cup there is going to be much more partisan support and less locals blowing horns right?

Anyone wants to make a case for the Champions League being better with the also rans of Italy, Spain and England as opposed to made up purely of champions plus champions of countries like Latvia, Estonia, Belarus etc, need look no further than this competition. South Africa vs Iraq was an embarrassment, and there's quite likely more to follow with the organisers determined to get the hosts through so putting New Zealand, South Africa and Iraq in the same group. It was dreadful, and Spain may wipe the floor with all of the teams in the group. I am a bit annoyed Torres wasn't taken off at half-time, they had won the game and he wasn't going to prove anything in the second half he hadn't already

I bet even England would have had a chance of winning this competition

I can't believe I actually watched the entire Iraq v South Africa Match.  Was like stabbing my eyeballs with a fork for the entire 90, not to mention turning the sound way down because of those damn horns.  My four year old son Shaughn was wearing his LFC Torres shirt while watching the Spain v New Zealand match.  I was cleaning the pool and he came out and told me each time Torres scored.  I thought maybe they were showing replays of the first goal and he thought it was another goal, but sure enough, hatrick in 17 minutes, pure class.  I sat down to watch the second half, Spain were just dominant.  Looking forward to the Italy v USA match today, even if this is a Mickey Mouse tournie, It's good to see some sort of quality football, all we have over here is MLS and that is nearly worse than watching Iraq v South Africa, at least MLS doesn't have those blasted horns though.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Yes, like that bloody annoying low monotone "chant" the mancs have adopted. It's not atmosphere, it's loud noise

Probably about 50% of the crowds will be South Africans.  They mentioned that yesterday as well.

Kaka scores on a penalty in the 88th minute to give Brazil the win.  Well fought by Egypt though.
