Doesn't look like he's gone anywhere just yet
To put into perspective, if Suarez gets injured, i know BR would like to have a drogba or anelka regardless of any 'style' of play
We're not exactly in a position to get picky and choosey!

Its not snotty.  Its smart!

If a player is not a good fit for he way BR wants his team to play then its best not to get them.

Also Drogba is 34 years old and would demand £80,000 - £100,000 per week + bonuses.

It would be a crazy deal!

Didn't we just free up 80,000 worth of wages in the shape of Andy Carroll??

Yes but spending it on a 34 year old who would want a 2 year deal minimum makes no sense!

I couldn't care less what age he is if he plays like he did last season at chelsea...

Ahh, completely forgot we signed this lad.  I agree that it's asking an awful lot to expect this kid to dive into the Premiership deep end and do the business for us.  Still, he may find himself getting a lot of games in the Europa League and the Carling Cup, as we try to maximize our limited resources across several competitions.  Fingers crossed he's up to the task.

Based purely on what I have seen of the lad ,he certainly looks like a classy player. I think he is also considered a top prospect for the German national team,so
his procurement by Rodgers could be seen as somewhat of a coup .

Celtic-red, Drogba is 34 years old but was still producing consistently when he left - he was still scoring in European Cup Finals in May and still producing regularly in the Premiership. It would be a short term signing but cast your mind back to when Gary Mac was bought in. Or when Larsson turned up for the filth a few years ago. I think we should be able to afford him after the players that left. A player that doesn't necessarily fit a certain style can still deliver and be productive. Arsenal a few years ago at the height of tippy tappy  refused to hit it long or cross the ball but Adebayor still scored 30 for them. Given our predicament I think we should seriously consider signing Drogba...but if he goes to a rival then he was obviously over the hill :-)

Personally I prefer Anelka... not because he's better than Drogba, but because I just don't like the cheating antics of Drogba... admitedly, Drogba has in his later years cut down on diving...

I really think we should look at the available free agents Drogba, Anelka and Owen to reinforce our striker department...

I would offer Michael Owen an olive branch and bring him back into the fold. He's a proven goalscorer and although he has lost his lightening quick pace over the years, he's someone who can hang around the opposition box, get into good positions and finish off chances. Can you sign free agents once the transfer window has closed?

Lets save our pennies and buy Falcao from Athletico for 40m in the summer. Before the billionaires of chelsea and man city do. How long do you think he will be at Athletico for , after that blistering hattrick in the supercup.

Its a nice dream anyhows. :)

Watching this average team against Arsenal is painful. Lack of signings have left us way short. Looking at 9th or 10th place at the end of the season. What a shambles.
