We come 9th  :cool:  , and it would have been wrong for us to win. When there have been so many tradgedys.
I think the day that shock the world was 9-11 that was horrendous it was the worst thing witnessed ever I was gutted for weeks, and of course lady Di's death I was gutted  I cryed for weeks that really hurt.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

9th place, as you rightly say phil, in the scheme of things in life. the fact that this great football club gets placed so highly in peoples psyche is testament to just how 'special' we are  :laugh:  chelsea fans need not even bother to reply!!

=============================================

for me the images from 9/11 will neber be forgotten. amen to them

i think that had to be the most voted for.......

i remember that day, turning on the box and flicking channels as you do, on to sky news and..wtf!
a jet has crashed into the WTC!!
di, di i screeched out! come in ere quick! look on the news! i urged... i remember phoning me dad..dad get the news on quick, i said.... then another plane plunged into the second tower............oh my god! then it dawned on us that this were no crash.. the newsreaders were saying terrorists could be responsible...youre kidding!! it was so unreal. the pictures coming from the telly were just like out of a hollywood blockbuster, and as the minutes passed other incidents were being reported. as sick as it sounds, it was fascinating viewing. you couldnt move from the coverage! and then, in what seems (still) like a biblical scene from some charlton heston epic..the twin towers began to crash down! THE TWIN BLOODY TOWERS were collapsing into the streets of new york! such a catastrophe you couldnt imagine.yet here in real life it was oh so very real.  i think i truly only ever ingested what id seen that day about 2 weeks later. to this day i cant believe the way it unfolded.
the lives of thousands of innocent people were shorn from the face of this planet by such an evil deed.

rest in peace.

defo one of those days where you know exactly where you was when it happened, i was on me break working in Chester and was in the bookies and some fella came in saying he had heard something and asked the fella behind the counter to change the channels on one of the TV and it was just after the tower had been hit.

To be honest when the two towers were in flames it didnt really hit me, it was when the 1st one collopsed i knew this was some serious sh!t, never forget that day till i die but its the same with most the pictures seen on that tonight and thats why they are there, i wasnt born to see the kennedy assassination or Apollo landing on the Moon but if i was i know for sure id remember where i was when i saw them.

The pictures of the Ethiopian famine and Beslan though are by far the most powerful, seeing humans in that much pain and dispear but also seeing children in situations they should never be put in.
