THE OFFICIAL KENNY DALGLISH THREAD - Return of the King

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

One thing I notice about KK is that he hardly ever buys players who flop. And he's good in replacing world class departed players with even better ones. When he first became manager in '85, Lvp were still missing Souey but he bought McMahon to buck up the midfield successfully.

Later in '87 we lost Rushie to Juventus but he bought Barnes and Beardsley and even Brazil would had been afraid to play us. KK was always willing to spend big if the player was worth it. He had broken the British transfer record many times as a manager like buying Beardsley and Shearer at Lvp and Blackburn respectively.

Now with Torres gone, he has bought Suarez and Carroll smashing the record (albeit for a British player) again. Let's hope history will repeat itself again. Come On. Let's BEAT Chelsea!!!

Liverpool under Dalglish are currently averaging more points per game than ManU have so far averaged this season.

What would have happened if he'd been appointed last summer? Anyway never mind but hopeful we can stay unbeaten now till May push on for 65-70 points and then get some more quality in during the summer for next season under Kenny.

For years we have had managers putting us down, crushing expectation, they all did it, Houllier, Benitez and Hodgson but now the curse is gone and we can breathe again. Dalglish has given us back what we had lost, that these guys took from us, and thats the beleif that Liverpool can compete and are still very important. Weve been dumbed down for way too long and to a degree bought right into it thinking these guys where right, but they where wrong, and Daggers returned our self esteem. Liverpool are back mentally, we are all awake again and ready to build roads back to the top.

Bit of clamour building up steam for Kenny to be announced as permanent boss, I think it's pretty certain it will be rubber stamped in the near future but I wonder if i'm the only one who thinks it best to leave all that to later in the year and just focus on winning matches in the mean time? I like the idea that the players want Kenny to stay on and that they are playing for him to get the job full-time.

I hope King Kenny can guide us to the UEFA Europa cup trophy this season! That would be immense.
