Does Kenny still has what it takes in today's modern game? Any feedbacks would be great.

Wouldn't matter who was manager. If Kenny can't get the best out of a Liverpool team at home to Neverton, then no one can.

Lucky to get the pen?   That was a stone wall penalty if there ever was one. In fact, we should be moaning about how Howard wasn't booked. We switched off for spells in the second half and it cost us three points. We really should have battered them and deserved to win.

Hopefully KK is talking with John Henry right around now about who he wants to sign.

We need pace and width.  It would make such a difference to our play as we are always looking for that killer defence splitting ball to Torres, and nine times out of ten we don't make it.

Blistering pace down one or both wings would make such a difference.  Look at that run today from kelly...he got an ovation as nobody can remember the last time we saw something like that!!

Whoever we sign needs to be pacey, whether they are a striker or winger.

I will be gald to see Gerrard back as it might stop what seem to be odd selections in CM.  I don't think Warnock is massively better than what we have now, but if he can play at LB, put Johnson wide right, and add a striker we'll have more threat.  Or put Kelly in at CB with Johnson at RB

                Reina

Johnson  Kelly  Agger  Warnock

Babel  Gerrard  Lucas  (new winger)

          Suarez  Torres

Two proper strikers, with pace and width to supply.

Lots of rumour today that he is joining on loan till the end of the season.

Since posting the above, some rumours too about Babel going in exchange for someone.....he's changed his Twitter location to Europe apparently.

Maybe to Ajax as part of the Suarex deal

im sure kenny will be asking for funds when they meet.we could afford to offload around 6 players and only sign 3 replacements and we would be better off.
it is only fair that he gives all players a shot too see what they can do for him.he has claimed that he doesent mind the squad he has and would have taken the job nonetheless.so maybe he feels that he can get more from them.im pretty sure henry is here to discuss transfers and will discuss at lenght with comoli and kenny who they feel must go and who comes in.
out of our current squad id keep pepe, gerrard, torres, merieles the rest can go for all i care but these 4 are pivotal in rebuilding.we have some youth here that with the right players around them, they will excel.
nesv will prefer to build from the youth but kk is wise enough to know we need experience also so i wouldnt be surprised if we get a few oldies such as v.bommel in this window.

i wasnt aware he was linked with a return to us but should he be then he is a welcome addition.
he is a solid lb,tough tackler and isnt bad with the ball at his feet.

Watched the game with my heart doing 90! Thought it was a fair result overall. Our heads dropped when they got the first goal and when the second went i'd say the lads were thinking "Here we go again". The reaction was good though and i had a feeling we'd get an equaliser.

I think Kenny is right about our luck being out these days (can't say that about Blackpool though, beaten fair and square). The defence needs some serious work, Kelly is promising but Skrtel, Kygriakos and Johnson are not up to the task. It was plain to see what Everton's tactic was today - hoof, hoof, hoof and get it to someone at the back stick and poach those second balls (no pun intended :D ...sorry :D ). I'd say if Cahill was there today he would have nicked a goal.

The next task is Wolves and i am genuinely worried as our away form is diabolical. We have no natural leaders when Stevie and Carra are missing and it will be tough to cope with Wolves 'never-say-die' style of play. If we go one-nil down then whos there to pick us up and show some inspiration. Fortunately Torres is looking like his old self but he's up and down all season so here's hoping. Hopefully they'll have an off-day and we can come away with the 3 points but if i'm being realistic i think we'll lose 2-0 :( just my opinion.

I also thought Kenny's substitutes were a bit safe but i really appreciate how he's getting the home grown talent a chance. The youngsters are willing to work hard and give their all and i think Kelly, Spearing and Shelvey will all be thankful. It looked liked Babel was coming on until we scored so i guess KD didn't want to ship anymore goals while we were at 2-2.

Oh yeah and great decision not playing that sh!thouse Konchesky  :;):

I hope that Kenny will start to use Cole in the upcoming matches.  He's useless on the wings but maybe he would work in the role that Spearing was playing today.  He's on 90k a week so we might as well use him.

Thats probably more a result of our thin squad and injuries rather than any personal choice. I do wonder why he played spearing when we desperately need some creativity in the squad.

I remember Spearing against Napoli and he was quite adventurous with his passing but i understand what you mean. Will Joe Cole ever be 100% again? He's probably the most creative next to... Maxi.

Against Everton, Lvp were too attacking minded and left their defence in tatters. 6 minutes of lapsed concentraion gifted E'ton with 2 goals. Not only was the defence shaky, but it didn't help in initiating an attack when they had the ball.

Stevie G and Carra were sorely missed. Kenny will have to work hard on the defence.

I thought we played well yesterday but the result wasn't great.  At the moment we have no confidence and the luck is not going our way as a result.  We should of had a few goals in the first half and Torres was very unlucky when that effort hit the bar.

There are lots of positive's though.  Torres is starting to look sharp, the young players are doing well and we're starting to pass the ball and create chances again.  Soon our captain and vice captain will also be back.

6 mins of losing concentration cost us the game.  Skrtel is muck.  I was hoping to see Babel or Cole on too.
