i'm still buzzin with KK back at the helm,but like thousands of other suporters,i'm miffed at why he wasn't given the job in the first place & saved alot of us the heart ache we suffered under hodgson.

if a football manager has all heart but no technical ability then we are screwed.
rafa has a great football brain but no heart.
roy hodgson has a little bit of both.
kenny daglish has all heart but maybe rusty bit on the technical side.
hopefully steve clark can ease him back into the "modern' game asap, n we will hv a v powerful manager for years to come.

Rafa no heart? Seemed to me that he had way more passion about our club than Roy had. This is not having a dig at Roy. He seems like a descent bloke.

Who remembers when he sat down like Budha so people could se the PKs.

Kenny Dalglish, a legend, was never afraid to blood young talents. I remember that when he became the gaffer alter the Heysel disaster, he immedaitely promoted Steve Nicol to right back and Jim Beglin to left back and promted the departures of both Phil Neal and Alan Kennedy. He also bought Steve MacMahon who became the midfield lynchpin.

It's a bit early, but I can see Kelly playing very well and perhaps other youngsters can show some of the other underperforming seniors, who are internationals, a thing or two about what it means to play for Liverpool.

yes the man has been out of the game for some time but you never really lose it mate, the king will do just fine

i think Kenny would need to know if he is building a team for someone to take over or if its a team he is going to get to work with.
the club should give him ten games and if results are better then they should make him the manager on a two year contract.

ten games is about right as the window will be closed and we can see how he is doing, if the results are good then who knows what he could do in the real window in the summer.

He has the rest of the season at the least, why does that then have to be changed to 10 games 
The signings are going to be made by Comolli with Kenny as well and whether Kenny is to remain in charge or not the vision for what kind of players to be signed and how the club is to be taken forward should be the same.

Kenny Dalglish wants Liverpool FC players to match his ambition

KENNY DALGLISH today called on his players to match his own ambitions for Liverpool during his second reign at Anfield.

After a hectic start the Reds legend was today getting down to business at Melwood – preparing his men for a crucial clash against Blackpool tomorrow evening.

And Dalglish challenged his Liverpool squad to demonstrate the desire necessary on the pitch to mirror the club’s high standards.

The Scot told the ECHO: “If there isn’t the desire from the players to match the ambition that’s necessary, then they can’t be here.

“But if we go out in the right and proper manner, then all we can do is do our best to try and get positive results for this club.

“We’ve got to just get on with it.”

Dalglish’s first full week proper starts with a trip to Bloomfield Road tomorrow, before the Merseyside Derby at Anfield on Sunday.

On Monday, Dalglish spent the morning at Melwood with his players, also under the stewardship of incoming first team coach, Steve Clarke.
The Scot, who until Saturday held an ambassadorial role at Liverpool, was today re-acquainting himself with life in charge of theReds.

He added: “I’ll be working with he first team this morning, preparing for the match tomorrow, and there’s a reserve game scheduled for the Academy which I’m hoping to go to.

“The day is taken up with sorting out travel for matches, the sport science people, talking to Damien (Comolli) about football matches - it consumes your time.

Boston-based owners John Henry and Tom Werner turned to Dalglish last weekend after deciding to bring Roy Hodgson’s troubled tenure to an end.

He left on Saturday by mutual consent, together with an undisclosed compensation package.

But Dalglish is now only looking to the future and remains determined to bring smiles back to he faces of Reds supporters.

He said: “I saw the players efforts on Sunday, watched them in training yesterday, and they did really well.

“But I’d be really disappointed if they didn’t respond when a new guy came into the football club.”

LFC Weekly January 11: Craig Johnston on King Kenny's return

CRAIG Johnston believes Kenny Dalglish has been desperate to return to Liverpool ever since he last left the club in 1991.

Dalglish dramatically returned to Anfield as caretaker manager at the weekend in a move that has been excitedly received by the majority of fans.
It’s an appointment Dalglish will have been equally enthused by and the Scot is a man who knows Liverpool Football Club better than anyone, according to Johnston.


“The fact that he didn’t go and live back in Scotland or abroad after finishing says much about how he feels for Merseyside,” Johnston exclusively told LFC Weekly from the Bahamas. “Every time he goes for dinner, every time he goes out of the house, somebody from Liverpool will say something to him. When he’s on holiday – when he’s on the golf course, he will be approached by people wanting to talk Liverpool.

“Speaking to him, I’ve always got the impression that he’s waited for this day since he left Liverpool originally.
“So it’s a case of getting hold of the pit helmet, switching the light on and jumping back into the coal mine.”

Johnston believes Dalglish’s managerial style is just what the club need at the moment.

“There’s no school teacher in Kenny. A lot of managers in the modern game talk about football as if it’s some kind of exact science when it isn’t. The only thing that is certain is that you won’t achieve success if you don’t try hard.
“Kenny demands 100 per cent from everyone who works with him and is uncompromising when it comes to effort. That’s what made him the player and the manager he is. He not only had talent, but he was a hard worker as well. He loved to graft. He was born to play football and born to manage players.”
