well if you believe what you read, he's on £60,000 a week on his current contract. nobody in their right mind in this country will pay him that so if he does leave i can only see him going abroad.

actually just had a thought. always injured. ridiculously high wages. expect newcastle to sign him soon. :D

The thing is 60,000 is kinda the going rate for premierleague footballers at the moment...

I am sure there are much more footballers (in the premierleague) getting more than 60k.  I mean lucas neil (an average right back) is getting more than 50k himself....

I can tell u this...if we let him go on a free.....i am sure other clubs will gladly pay him 100k.

And have him on the operation table :D
seriously he is no doubt quality when fit..but too much injury and he's not getting younger.
i'd say 1 year contract with reduced terms

Roy Hodgson hopes to make Harry Kewell one of his first signings at Fulham in a £1.5 million deal. The winger's contract with Liverpool expires in the summer.

There's a rumour flying around that Ronaldo's leaving Man U in summer, and Fergie's got his eye on Kewell to back up that Portuguese lad.

I can't see him going to the mancs, as he would be accepting mainly reserve team football. I could see the mancs making an offer for him though, just to get back at Rafa for Heinze.

keep him. kewell is currently (in my opinion) our best left midfielder in the squad. Even if we do buy another left winger in whos better then him id still want kewell as backup.

yea he could help the other team by getting sent off . Simple give harry the contract , he has had splendid games ever since his return , setting up torres goal against porto after coming on from the bench , setting up kuyt's goal in the champions league , setting up yossi's goal against pompey . He has the ability to set up goals , beat defences with his skills , If it was possible i would keep harry provided he stays injury free till the end of the season and has not yet signed for any club

it would be pity to see him go but if he carries on with his injuries then he would have to go . If he manages to stay injury free , i hope rafa keeps him , like many of u have said before , he is the best left midfielder we have and beggers can't be choosers

that will never happen , fergie knows kewell's track record and with all due respect replacing ronaldo with kewell?? Although i hate him , but replacing but one of the greatest players with a injury prone one? Nah mate , they will probably get a thich wad of cash for ronaldo and sign another top player to replace him

Well, in my opinion he was our worst player on the field yesterday (though many others were weak as well, as only Torres and Masch were above average in my book). He just couldn't get past his opponents, his passing was poor and basically he lost us the ball on numerous occasions. That being said I still think we should keep him, seing as there aren't many great (and at the same time affordable) left wingers around. On his day he can still be very good, and I - like others - maintain that he's still our best option on the left wing. I would however like to see the new contract being based a bit more on appearances, as sadly you just never know when he'll break down again.

Kewell is finished.  Yes he has ability, yes he was a fantastic player but that was years ago.

Anyone reckon he'll play a full 90 mins for Liverpool ever again? With predictable timekeeping he was taking off in the 75th minute, althoughI'm sure Saint will probably say we were winning until Kewell came off!

Kewell had a poor game last night, didn't look up for it at all and seemed more concerned with not getting hurt than creating anything. He is still trying to build up his fitness yet, so maybe we should be a little patient. Having said that, we were winnning till Kewell came off.

Kewell certainly did more than his replacement Benayoun, and that was while Kewell was having a bad game.

Well, obviously Kuyt wasn't playing yesterday and the scapegoat arm band was passed to Kewell.  Not his best game certainly but he was not the reason we drew.

Not being funny at all here but Gerrard failed to score on three golden chances (apart from his free kick) and was the one who muffed the clearance to gift Bramble the ball on the edge of the box.  Perhaps we shouldn't be so hard on Kewell after all. ???
