but i'd like to ask everyone - especially a crop of newbies - to show a bit of restraint when making a new topic. since the great events of the other night the forum has been very busy, and rightly so, but it has been really hard to follow much of the interesting discussion because many people seem to think that any passing thought demands a new topic. the chances are that someone else has had that passing thought already and started their own topic. i understand that people want their point of view to be heard but the best way to do that is to insert that point of view into an existing thread. the best thing about this forum is the discussion - sometimes volatile, sometimes funny, always interesting. don't let the new thread plague dilute this into a useless nothingness. i've no idea how many duplicate (or pointless) threads there are at the moment but theres a lot and its making it difficult to find the good stuff.
so have that great thought and then think: are there already threads on this subject? which existing thread can this go in? newbies especially count to 10 and then see if that brainwave is still worth a topic.
if anyone strongly disagrees with me let me know and i'll take it all back.
