Owen shafted Liverpool FC just 12 months ago...now, because his Real Madrid 'dream' has turned into a nightmare, Rafa is suppose to drop everything......scrap his transfer plans, just because Owen has now 'decided' Liverpool is good enough for him? 

I'm behind RAfa on this......Owen can go rot! 

Ian Rush left and then came back so why is he different? He is an Anfield legend whats the difference?

If Owen ends up rotting on the Real bench until January or going to Newcastle (although I doubt he'd go there), then he has only himself to blame for letting his Liverpool contract run down a year ago and leaving us on the cheap chasing the dream.

I'm sick hearing how he's 'desperate' to return and all these fans sympathising and keeping up the 'bring mikey home' campaign.  Fu.ck him, he had his chance to stay and experience life under Rafa and he blew it.  And another thing, if this wasn't a world cup year do you think he'd be so 'desperate' to return to us??  No way, he'd be content to sit on the bench over there.  He's trying to use us now to make sure he starts at the world cup, just like he used us a year ago by letting his contract run so he'd get his 'big move abroad'.

I accept our current strikers are misfiring, but I'd sooner give them until January to prove themselves or even bring in someone like Kuyt before I'd take back Owen

I FULLY agree with that. If I'm in Rafa's chair, and with limited resources...I'll prioritise! Having enough strength upfront with players good quality, I will look into getting reinforcement at the back, then right side midfield before I clean my kitty off with another striker. Too bad we are not funded by a Russian mafia otherwise it will make everyone's job easier...

Also knowing Rafa, who don't give a sh*te about reputation (refer to his work at Valencia), he might not want Owen back because of the way he walked out of him and the team. Professional player is as much about skills as it is with integrity. He's not like a Rush who did it with the club's blessing, here's one who jump ship the moment he sense there's a better opportunity (no harm at that but once you burn the bridge, you can't be expected to just waltz back in!!!)

I say let Rafa do his job. He's the best signing we had in ages and showed us what he can do with a half decent team. He earned the right to pick his team and buy the players of his choice! Funny how many of you who proclaim "in Rafa we trust" are now openly questioning him after just 2 games into the season and into the CL proper (not something one can say for a certain bluesh*te )

Some people really p*ss me off Judge how can anyone not want him back, with the best interests of Liverpool at heart, we need friggen goals and he will guarentee them, prem proven takes 3 defenders with him when he plays, that alone lets other players to get into positions to shoot on target.
Rafa seriously needs his head testing if he doesnt get him back the moneys there just friggen sign him and lets move on to win things with MO.

Well if Rafa isn't signing Owen because he has a grudge against him he isn't the right manager for us its just not a professional attitude. Owen is better than the other strikers we have at the moment. Rafa has tried and failed to sign cover for the centre backs (Josemi and Pellegrino) is he just going to keep throwing £1 or £2 million at it at a time thinking sooner or later he'll get lucky with one of these signings (LIKE HOULLIER)? Now he has the chance to sign someone we all know is better than what we have at the moment.

Thats not what i said and you know it. Do you work for KOPtalk? I said if the reason he isn't signing him is because he has a grudge against him then that is not professional. 

I would have thought it was fairly f.cking obvious why wenger and fergie don't bid for him they already have decent strikers.

Whats the Difference?!?!?!?!  I'll tell you the difference!  Ian Rush openly admited he wanted to play abroad......fine, no problem.  If a player wants to move on, so be it.  The difference between Rush and Owen is,

Rush NEVER deliberatly ran down his contract

Rush didn't tell his agent to start negotiations with another club in regards to a BOSMAN transfer (albe it the Bosman rule didn't exsist)

Wrong.

Rushy didn't want to go in the first place. When Juve made us a big offer he accepted the move out of loyalty to LFC, putting the club's interests ahead of his own, but he would never have chosen to go in a million years.

Rushie left with the club's blessing and Owen screw the club and our (then) new manager...how easily people forget things 12 months on . He treaten the club with no choice but to accept a stinking offer from Real and he abandon what he thought was a 'sinking ship' and willing to sit on the bench hoping for a chance to win things. Why should we move heaven and earth to sign him now? He should be treated just like any other player, trying to impress the manager who made us the Champions of Europe!!!  Wake up guys...Owen is a good player but he alone won't guarantee us anything. Rafa obviously want a more balanced team and bunch of players who wants to play for him.

Wenger has Henry and Berkamp both proven for many many years in the prem might go on a drought but will defo make up for it and besides can play any team on thier day off the park.

Chelski have Crespo proven in the highest flites of football Drogba hate the MOFO but is a bully upront and keeps pocking the ball in plus countless others like Arsenal who will score this season.

The Mancs have Horseface love him or hate him is a pain in the around the box and will score loads along with shrek who will be lethal with the aformentioned player plus Ronaldo.

Now apart frpm Arsenal i hate the other teams certain Members know i do but you see my point right? .


We just don't have that Crouch may be a 1 season wonder, Cisse i hope will come good he has the look of European player of the year at some stage but has only played in france. Nando has never been prolific more of a litmanen type player.

Anywho you do the maths we need quality in depth not just crossing fingers and hoping for the next chance to go in, But i believe Rafa knows this and will address the problem accordingly no matter who he brings in even tho MO would be first choice to many

i can't believe people are comparing Rush to Owen! 

Owen screwed Liverpool Fc out of 7 or 8 million pounds.  We sold him for peanuts, all because he strung us along over his contract! 

Yes, i'd like to see him back.  He would score goals.....but i'm not going to pretend I would be happy to see him.  He sat, with his agent, at the table and told Parry and Rafa that unless they sold him to Real, last summer, he would agree a pre-contract with them and leave at the end of his conract!  I'm sorry....but Ian Rush would NEVER do something like that to the club who made him!
