He makes Heimdall look positive!

:D
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Im truely sorry that im worried about the state of the club and that the future looks far from rosey a present - ill just ignore it and whistle happy thoughts thinking everything is great and there is so much to be positive about .

We get it.
Youre worried, concerned, frightened, angry, frustrated, pi'ssed off, annoyed, scared, fuming, confused, alarmed, feeling let down, betrayed and powerless.

The sad reality is that there is absolutely no guarantee that the new owners will be any better for the club.

Maybe there will be some changes once a big club goes down.

With Riera almost out we'd have Jovanovic, Maxi, and Babel as cover...

Our priorities following the signing should be as follows:

-Left back
-backup forward
-replace Skrtel with quality CB
-another midfielder
-backup leftback

So far, we've sold Insua for 5mill, Benny for 6mill, and Riera will probably go for about 4mill... which leaves us with around 15mill to spend in addition to whatever the board gives Roy (assuming they do, and disregarding wages for a second)...

Scharner is available on a free transfer after deciding his time with the Latics had come to an end.

New Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has been an admirer of the Austrian international and sought to take him to Craven Cottage when in charge of Fulham.

It seems Hodgson’s interest has not waned following his move to Anfield and is now hoping to bring him to Merseyside.

Scharner wants to stay in the Premier League and would certainly jump at the chance of playing for a big club.

However, it seems Hodgson will face competition from Aston Villa.

So we are looking at that level of player alongside Steven Taylor from Newcastle and a guy from Costa Rica ?!

Not exactly signings to propel us back into 4th

Thankfully not all our signings and transfer interest will be of the Paul Scharner standard!

Kwality!!!

Dani Pacheco scored both goals in Spains U19 win over Portugal tonight. Hopefully he gets a few games with us this season. Looks to be a real talent.

I had to laugh at that one.  Martin is the best damn defender at this club.  If we had to get rid of a defender, I would much rather see Carragher go(he's now a liability).

Here Martin vs Man city, for those who forgot what a beast he is...

I dont think Carragher is going anywhere, and to be honest it would be a disgrace if the club decide to let him go after all he's given to the club... Between Skrtel and Agger I know who I'd rather have in the starting lineup and it isnt Skrtel fella...

He might improve in the next couple of years but for now he has poor awareness and positioning and it's a position we need to improve on to play with certain tactics..

To me he's better than the Greek, and might even become a more valuable squad member than Carra in a season or two, but the fact that represents the best sell-out value of all 3 means that if we have the chance to sell him and use the money to bring in a better CB then its a move that improves our starting lineup to a large degree...

We have 4 CBs who are good... None are exceptional or dominant or any of that... Have Carragher or Agger play beside a dominant CB with a bit of pace (Carvalho, Pepe, Vidic, Lucio, Chiellini, MEXES, B.ALVES, GAMBERINI...etc) and it would improve our back4 no end imo...

I'm of the same mind. Skrtel could be good but aside from a spell at the start of 2008/09 (until he got injured) he's never really shown he can play at a consistently high level. I like Carra and I like Agger but I also have reservations about their partnership. I'd desperately like to see Hangeland at the club but it seems pretty unlikely now. It's gonna be hard to find a dominant player (in the air) who has a bit of pace about him on a shoestring so I suspect we'll go into the season with our current set of CBs.

we still need another striker imo, preferably one who can play with his back to goal, lead the line and hold the ball up. not sure zamora is good enough. a bit of a one season wonder for me. somebody like carew would be ideal.
