fair point but Agger's isn't a recent injury record is it?

I'm also torn on the Agger situation. I love the guy but he just doesn't play enough. He's played 92 league games in 5 and a half seasons. I'm afraid if he stays we'll never have a settled centre back pairing. I wish he could stay fit

I'm not going to write off Agger, I don't think we should sell him because he is still a class player. Skrtel isn't good enough for top four or title aspirations and so is Kyriagkos.

my glass is half full, even if he does continue to have an injury every 2 months(on international duty) I am still delighted to have someone come into the first 11 and virtually guarantee a clean sheet/victory, based on those 'primitive' stats (match facts). I'm sure he'll be retiring from international duty soon anyway.

I wouldnt sell Agger despite his injuries for a couple of reasons.
The first being he is obviously our best centre half, the difference Sunday when he came back in was there for all to see.
The second being, what would he actually fetch money wise ?
Not that much i bet, so for me what's the point ?

Keep him deffo.

Word is we'll get 14m from Juve for Aquilani. That'd be enough for a good CB (like the aforementioned Kjaer for example) or maybe even most of the way toward a star prospect like Hazard.

Just for sh@ts and giggles, here's a list of the Transfermarkt.co.uk values for the players we should be selling this summer:

Cole - 11.4m (yeah right. I'd be happy with 4 or 5)
Poulsen - 4.4m (more like "we'd be lucky to let him go on a free" IMO)
Soto - 2.6m (I wouldn't mind keeping him actually)
Jovanovic - 6m (Alright, I really don't know what these guys are smoking)
Ngog - 4.4m (Sounds about right)
Maxi - 8m (I really don't know. I'm sure he'd do better in other leagues)
Skrtel - 9.6m (I'm totally fine with keeping him. I think 6m would be a decent price, though.)
Insua - 5m (Reasonable I think.)
Reina - 20m (I really hope we can keep him, but if we can't, we'd better cash in. 20m is an absolute minimum.)

So, in a magical dream-world, we could see £70m coming in this summer. In a more realistic projection (including hopefully keeping Pepe and getting that 14m for Aquilani), it's entirely possible (if not necessarily probable) that we could push £45m. Considering the fact that NESV, after selling Torres and Babel, have spent a whopping £2m of their promised transfer chest, we could be looking at huge, huge investment in the squad.

Will it happen? A man can dream!

30. Suso -        Quality player, could become a legend and become a 40 million plus player

43. Bouzanis -   3rd choice keeper, young and has potential
45. Ince -         English, young, fast skillful winger and could become a great quad player
47. Wisdom -    Young, english, powerhouse of a defender, leader, could be better then Kelly and lead

Undecided (If NESV give us signicant funds id keep all these players, if we need to recoup money its a different story)

2. Johnson + Battle it out with Kelly for RB, Versatile and better CBs will bring out the best in him
                - Kelly is a more solid RB and younger, we could still command a high fee for him

5. Agger    + One of the true quality players in the squad, world class when fit, gives our team a new

18. Kuyt     + Heart like a lion and always up for the big games, great guy to have in the locer room

                - Still not the type of player who can control a game, doesnt score or get assists enough
Aquilani      + Quality player who is already on the books, looks to be over his injurys, xabiesque
passing and Kenny could breath new life into his Liverpool career
                - Jury still out on injurys and desire to play in premiership, would get a decent fee for him
- Insua      + Young (still not many LBs out thier as good as him at his age), already on the books,
gained more experience could a great little player for us as 1st or 2nd choice, with
better CB 2 allow him to attack more freely. Wouldnt need to be rushed into the

                - Maybe too leightwieght, Probally wants to leave now

Id definitely keep:
(in order of importance)

8. Gerrard
25. Reina
7. Suarez
9. Carroll
2. Johnson
4. Meireles
5. Agger
34. Kelly
22. D Wilson
23. Carragher
33. Shelvey

Other players we should be looking to sell but could possibly use as squad player if we are unable to sell them for whatever reason:
(in order of money they could bring in)

- Aquilani
18. Kuyt
21. Lucas
37. Skrtel
10. J Cole
12. Pacheco
- Insua
17. Maxi
42. Gulacsi

Everyone else who isnt a youngster and isnt on either list should be sold regardless of what is offered.

He will never be good enough, go on tell me, you watched every game he has featured in for the reserves, every single game he played at Tranmere whilst on loan, well Kenny must think he has something about him at the age of 20 years old because he's on the bench and wouldn't be there if Kenny thought otherwise. :shifty

Don't even bother replying to me because the outs on that list and the outs if we need to recoup money is something you do on some kind of FM game ffs, you would keep 5 players who have some first team experience and are over the age of 20 years old, thank god you aren't manager of this club.

P.S Insua is out of contract come June 30th he won't be here next season, reason why, because he is gash.

Liverpool's new director of football Damien Comolli claims the sale of Fernando Torres has benefited the club.

The Reds opted to cash-in on the Spanish striker during the January transfer window, selling him to Premier League rivals Chelsea for a British record £50million.

With it clear that the World Cup winner was growing increasingly disillusioned with life on Merseyside, it was felt that moving him on was the best option.

The money they brought in allowed them to snap up Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll as replacements, helping to increase their attacking options.

Comolli believes the deal benefited all concerned, with a cloud having lifted around Anfield following Torres' departure.

Relief
He said: "It's like there is a bright new sky with no cloud over our head from the day that happened, so it's been only positive.

"When you have someone who doesn't want to be here and you swap him for people who do, the atmosphere changes.

"Getting two players triggered the fact that we could sell one who didn't want to be here and get two who did.

"That was really a relief for those reasons."

Comolli was heavily involved in the Suarez and Carroll deals and, having taken on more responsibility at Anfield, admits he is bracing himself for a busy summer in the transfer market as Fenway Sports Group continue to fund new arrivals.

Targets
"The owners said from day one they want to improve things and turn things around quickly and I have said the same thing since I arrived, so I expect a busy summer," said the Frenchman, who was appointed by FSG in November.

"When we prepare for the next season it's difficult to say we work to the January transfer window. We work from summer to summer.

"When the window shuts in September we are preparing for the next summer window, not the one in January because, as people say, usually not much goes on in January.

"We proved that wrong but as soon as it shuts on 31st January, we are thinking about the summer and what we are going to do.

"We talk about different targets, about players we thought about in January but couldn't do and keep the scouting team working."
