The game tonight - Why we're still that little bit short

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

how ya doin guys?

am on me internet phone at the moment. am very p#ssed off. it now looks extremely hard to qualify because we'll probably have to pick up an away win along the way.

tonight's game proves to me why we are that little bit short of the top teams. yes we played well in patches. yes we had a lot of possession. yes we had a few decent chances (cisse and garcia in 1st half). however a truly top team such as arsenal would have buried at least one of those chances and won the game. we severely lack firepower.

on the plus side tonight, i though baros had his best game in a liverpool shirt.

deportivo did nowt. how they got a draw i'll never know.

I know what you mean St Mike but I got a feeling tonight that things are defnitely getting better and Baros did play really good with his support play and link ups.

I reckon were in with a good shout of qualifying

We did miss Gerrards drive and a long long way to go but Im a lot happier than I was this time last week

Our players were very unlucky to score. I am not sure about Arsenal comment as they have not been impressive in their games as of yet in the Champions League. At least we did not lose but considering that we were at home we should had picked up the three points.

Just as we boosted our confidence against Fulham, Deportivo did the same against Madrid. We'll be ready for Charlton, I'm sure.

We have 9 points to play for so its far from over yet. We played well tonight and the team certainly gave everything. I think we are capable of winning in La Coruna or Monaco and Im confident we will take 3 points off Olympiakos  :)

Monaco are a different side now with Saviola so they will be a tough one on the road. However I can see us beating Deportivo and Olympiakos.

Right about the lack of firepower being the big weakness but confirms to me that Baros and Cisse aren't the ones, roll on January when we can get some fresh meat in.

We were so poor up front Kewell looked dangerous!

For me we can right off the season, mid table and Europe next year at best.

We're not that poor to finish in the mid-table at the end of the season. Compared to how we played last year we are much better and we got into the top 4. This year the gap between us and Arsenal will be lower whether we will finish 4th or 3rd place I don't know but to say that we will finish in the mid-table is shocking.

Taff

If you put a comma in then I would understand yer post!

I think there are already posts predicting mid table so I'm not alone, any higher and I think yer expecting too much.

Only chance is some top notch signing in January.

4th place is too high? Way to be optimistic and confident about yer team.

Baros battled and gave it everything he had all night.

0-0...
