The final - If we do, the reserves?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby taff » Thu Dec 02, 2004 11:50 am

If we reach the final should we be bold and play the same team that got us there

I know that everyone would love to see us lift the trophy but there is a part of me that would love to see the kids involved

Still, to get this far is a great achievment and I cant help but be optimistic with the way the club is going

Rafa has thrown down the challenge and it looks like most of the playerrs are responding. Diao hang your head in shame

It depends where in the league and champions league we are when these games come round i would imagine as to what team Rafa would put out!

he has gotta keep faith with the kids they have got us there it would be unfair to put the likes of gerrard and Hyypia,Baros in when Its the likes of Pongulle Whitbread Biscan who have got us there.

I appreciate the sentiment expressed , it would be a great experience for them but on the other hand it could be pretty humiliating for them if Chelsea (or Man U ) field a full strength side and our lads get spanked .
:(

ps We are all assuming that they'll breeze past Watford , maybe they will, but even our first eleven has had some nasty shocks playing against teams from the lower divisions .

Moores and Parry will ask for a full strength side. Carling cup or not no one goes to Cardiff to play in the final with their reserve side. I think now we have got this far we may as well try to win it.

Its a very cynical way of looking at things but how much revenue would you get from winning the Carling Cup?

woof woof m8, u're having a laugh, that was with houllier and before that, embarassing defeats happened, we will beat watford, might not be a walkover but trust me we will be in the final, and as for getting into europe i dont honestly care if we win the mickey mouse cup, we will get at least 4th place

You can bet your house on Stevie.G leading the team out at Cardif should we get there. Along with Alonso, Carra, Baros etc. Rafa might stick with a couple of the young lads such as Warnock and Mellor + Dudek in goal but i can't see us fielding a youth/reserve team as was the case last night.

And if its the mancs you can bet your house on Rafa fielding his strongest team.
