The ficklebuggers are out again - Silly ficklebuggers

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I hope I'm forgiven for starting a new topic on a subject that seems to bee dominating many other peoples  so moderators please forgive me but I have'nt posted much lately.

Rafa Benitez

Well now.  Another foreign idiot (As I stated upon his arrival) or genuis of the highest order.

Ficklebuggers this guy will have as great an impact on the future of Liverpool as Bill Shankly.  Ok He's lost two games on the trot but hey! the balls it took for him to throw Alonso and Garcia on the pitch is after a lunch time in the country is unbeleivable.  But what is more unbelievable is his ability to exploit his own players to the point of showing their true ability.  Take Diao for example he played him in a european match which showed fully that he is'nt a bad player just a limited player.  Houllier was never able to put players in such positions.  Benetiz has isolated more players in three games than any other premiership manager.  His focus is not on pandering to the big name ficklebuggers.  Instead like the great man Shanks, he is looking to find out how they all can fit into a team.  Harry Kewell the man who made the kop chant has been show to lack penetration and even the ablity to take players on.  Benetiz is experimenting with this squad and is finding many of them out.  They won't be able to hide with this man.  Those who underestimate him, or how much he'll acheive this season you do that toyour cost.  One thing I'll put a fortune on however is the exodus that will occur come the transfer window.  I was a sceptic and and twodefeats have actually turned me into a Bebetiz fan come on Rafa beat it up them son!

Yeah,I was another one who didnt want the Spaniard.I didnt see his success in La Liga as any guarantee that he could do the same with Liverpool fc.But he`s here now and ive been impressed with him.I like his manner,i like his choice of players.Unforunately for the long suffering fans we will have to wait six months before the changes start to show any improvement on the pitch.

I hope this mass exodus does happen soon and the players who just arent doing it are finally shown the door and replaced with quality. One of GH'S downfalls was still selecting people who just were'nt doing it but Rafa seems to have nerves of steel and will get rid of players who dont perform on a consistant basis. I'll be honest when i say that of all the names that were mentioned after the sacking of GH when i heard that Benitez might be the next manager my mind was made up who i wanted. I have so much confidence that this guy will turn things around that i'll be coming back soon to slaughter the so called "ficklebuggers". How people are saying he is not the man obviously didnt study Valencia when he was in charge. He has to be given time to adjust and weed out players and bring in new blood and the first steps have been made.

I think this mass exodus will be hamman, kewell if he doesnt pull his socks up, finnan, biscan, henchoz, diao, dudek, baros if he doesnt start scoring, cara because he wont be in benitezs plans think thats about it an maybe pongolle, just hope gerrard stays tho I think with this new manager its going to be hard for him to change these players that were there under the houllier reign apart from gerrard the lads a natural talent I cant say that for the rest of them and the new ones that have come in benitez isnt going to tollerate no bull from any of them he will drive them on to fight and win for the best club in the world LFC.

Rafa certainly doesn't suffer fools lightly.Out of the players you've named cisse,I think Harry Kewell could be the big name in for an even bigger shock if he fails to turn his game around.

I agree supersup we all know how good kewell can be its very frustrating watching him play now as we know what he capable of ??? I just think maybe houlliers do as I say method has ruined alot of players what would have happened had diouff played as a striker? Maybe we would not have finished 30 points behind arsenal last season when owen and baros where injured. And if biscan was played in his proper possition from the off maybe he would have been a good midfielder not great but good. I dont have bad words for houllier but im glad hes gone think alot of us are relieved, but I think he has destroyed the confidence in the current left over squad we have and ruined a few players. :(

Good post
I certainly was very happy to see the arrival of Rafa.
I dislike seeing any Liverpool manager being given the marching orders but it seem that ship had lost its way and in some ways the success of the treble season meant that GH probably got more time then he should have which has made  Rafa's job all much harder.
I think there will be a lot of pain and going backwards before we go forwards but in this manager we have someone who is building a dynasty rather then a quick fix . Of course sadly in this day and age how successful he will be is also dependent on those making the financial decisions behinds the scenes

lfc# i think ficklebuggers should be a regular monthly slot.  maybe we could take turns to either have a go at ourselves or even the other football fans who forget how bloody difficult winning actually is.

Agree, since you are the creator you should write it, with input from others.  :D
