Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Surely that case will be dismissed in seconds if the judge has any sense. It's simple to define what nationality a club is.

An English club is one registered with the English FA, french clubs with the french FA and so on.

Cardiff and Swansea may be a bit miffed to find out they're English now

from what i understand they are using the rule that was given to Champagne( must be grown in that area and not just taken to that area).

what they are looking for is that an English club must be registered with the FA and the ingredients must be English.

It seem that this club that is going to go to court has got fed up with playing team that say they are English, spanish and end up player a team made up with no one from that place.
it looks like they will also have the backing of UEFA President is Michel Platini.

but yes it will be kicked out of court lol

By the same logic France should hand back the world cup and Euro Championship they won seeing as most of the component parts weren't from France.... :p

Spot on Bammo!!!

Viera - Senegal
Zidane - Algeria

and so on & so on.

Bet Platini (cough wa*ker cough) ain't pushing for this at international level as only England, Spain & Italy would stand a chance of winning the world cup if this was the case!!!

I fooking detest this man, great player but a tos*er of the 1st degree!!!!    :buttrock
Shankly on boardroom meetings - 'At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.'

Don't go bringing reality into this

If we actually had to have realistic expectations for England's chances then the country would grind to a halt in a bout of depression every 2 years.

I think we'll probably see the return of local talent eventually but it'll be dependent on the emphasis on technique at the highest level filtering down to the grass roots level. I mean the most promising of Wengers zillionth generation of kids is Wiltshere and he's English.

listening to some U18 interviews and they all seem to say that there is a very high emphasis on learning and understanding the tactics of the game.  Maybe that is the case for all U18s, but it is certainly the case for Rodolfo's U18s.

It would make sence mate, its no good having good skill sets if you dont know what you should or shouldnt be doing in your possition/role.
At some point heavy skill/technique training will give way to heavy tactics training.
This is one of the reasons I think its better now rafa has control of the youth, at least in theory.
There needs to be continuity through the ranks.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,
Of stupid fools who stand in line......  Like..
