THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL - AC MILAN VS LIVERPOOL

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Nikos67 » Wed May 23, 2007 10:24 pm

I am sorry that Liverpool didnt win the Final and i am sorry that Liverpool fans are not happy. I am a fan of the Greek team PAOK FC and i love Liverpool from when i was 8 years old, because of Kenny M. Dalglish. Anyway, Liverpool is a BIG TEAM and more Finals will come in the future. The lucky team today was Milan and at this level, luck is very important...we had big fun with the Reds in Athens :)

You know i hate to say there is a higher force up there pulling the strings, but i belive there is.

Who deserved  to really win the match in 2005, and which team when it came down to it, were better performers on the night?

AC Milan

Fast forward to tonight, and who were the better team, who deserved it? Us.

Yet both opposites won, and ballanced the scales out. I hate fate.

we made absolute c##ts of united tonight, united were outplayed home and away by milan and we dominated the game.
its a fact they wouldnt have scored the second if the lucky first hadnt have gone in, rafa took mascherano off because with 20 minutes left he probably looked at his 2 centre mids and thought who is more likely to put in a killer pass in.
if we wouldnt have been 1 down we wouldnt have changed it.
people can question rafa`s tactics but when we were the better side how can anyone question the tactics or selection?
if i had to lose a cl final it would have been like that.
that bluenose c##t andy gray probably said it best when he said the best side in 2005 lost and in 2007 the best team lost.
good luck to milan, they are a great club who probably owed us that.

You've got to get to these finals to have a shot at winning them. This is big boy's football, so you have to take the rough with the smooth. The closest Frank Lampard and Christiano Ronaldo have got to the European Cup is when they've played us at Anfield. Losing finals does not an unsuccessful side make.

Our players, our manager, our supporters out there - all absolute heroes as far as I'm concerned. It would have been brilliant to win, but it's been a poor season in other competitions, and to be honest I think we'll come back a hell of a lot stronger for the experience.

Players like Reina, Mascherano, Pennant and Agger - these players are going to be around at the club for a good few years, and for them to be that close to the trophy and not get their hands on it...god help anyone that gets in their way next season.

No tears from me tonight. Just applause to both sides. It was a final befitting the competition, and you can't argue with a side clinical enough to take their only two clear-cut chances. That's what champions are made of.

I don't think this LFC team is there yet. We're mighty f*cking close though. We have almost all the quality, but not quite the right mentality at times. Maybe tasting defeat on a stage like this is what some of our players need.

Until their goal I was happy. Alonso didn't make a foul on Kaka, but he should have known better. I was petrified with that free-kick because that's the kind of gift teams like Milan take quickly.

After the goal Milan AC were quite comfortable. I expected this kind of game, but with a goal for us.

I don't think Rafa's tactics were negative, it's just that when you have two great teams, the match can be won by anybody. Fair play to Milan AC, they do their stuff well, with a team of players that many people said they were past their best.

Proud of LFC though, they were never a worse team.
