Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Say what you want but hes got Reina, Torres, Gerrard, Agger and Carragher a few decent players around them, hardly relegation standard players, but atm that is where we are heading. It is time for him to be replaced, he has been a disaster and there is nothing positive showing to suggest he has the capability to turn it around

Meireles has had some good moments and it would be harsh to label him a flop at the moment but the rest of Hodgsons signings have not performed and have weakened the squad.

Not really. We had a weak squad, but not a very poor squad as they are now trying to make out. We all knew we needed a striker and a few other signings for the bench, but that was back when we were getting into finals of the CL and challenging for the league. Roy took the same team - minus Alonso - that were a step away from greatness, and turned us into relegation candidates.

Hodgson has inherited a squad with a poor attitude. He added Cole and Mereiles, merarles, mercat, whatever, two big signings, only the merman has done well. The rest, well. He doesnt have it in him to slap em around a bit. The attitude is wrong, and you cant help but feel they are here for the money. Like I said elsewhere, whoever comes in has a massive job on his hands.

there is a 50% chance that he might still be here for the Mancs game.

So that's another golden quote from many of Roy's "Royisms".

I've just watched the highlights on MoTD. The first goal, it looks like our two CB's were instructed to press high up the pitch from a set piece. Looks to me that's a tactical thing and it cost us a goal away from home. I don't think our players know their ar'se from their elbows at the minute due to how they are instructed to play. There's no organisation on the pitch. Rafa had us playing robotically at times, but at least you could see the purpose behind it - organisation. We were machine-like under him. Controlled. Now we just look like a pub team. That's Hodgson's doing. No one elses.

I doubt if the new owners would sack him now..it is a tough judgement call.
If they listen to the fans who attend the games they would probably get rid but if they listen to the media (where Hodgson still has support)then maybe they will stick with him.

Hansen changes his mind like the weather. At the start of last season he tipped Liverpool for the title. If Hodgson inherited such a poor squad how will this poor squad get back into top four contention by winning the games in hand and having a run of wins that Hansen's mates - Dixon, Crooks, Keown and Claridge all think they're capable of?

a step away from greatness? Last years team was a country mile away from greatness. We need a total clear out, starting with:

Johnson
Konchesky
Kyrgiakos
Skrtel
Maxi
Lucas
Ngog
Babel
Poulsen
Jovanovic

Under Rafa, when we went 1-0 down, it wasnt down to tactics, it wasnt down to positions, it was down to attitude. It was simply "Game Over". The attitude under Roy is pretty much the same. However you could argue that at least under Roy, he is trying to be positive, pushing up trying to score, commit everyone to the win.

No for me, its the players as well as the managers. The attitude of the players stinks, they are currently controlling the club, and until we get a manager who wont take any sh!t from any ego claiming to be gods gift to football, it will remain so.
