Thank you team, you too pepe!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

This season has just met its unimpossible mission being accomplished with a little surprise in the latest course of the competition -at least as being admitted by rafa, that second place had just being on horizon as we closed our eyes tight and suggest "just do your best in every match" into every player's mind.

looks like every flaw and defect had been being repaired while not putting aside the overhaul, the car kept enhanced without lowering the speed on the fly.

imagine some months back, just like yesteday, when we faced our strikers were suddenly only a shower of useless cr@ps amongst the the unstoppable midsectors powered by best brigade of midworkers in england premier league in names of mainly gerrard, alonso, and catalized by the young horsepower supplement in sissoko.

ths strikers infertility just looked worse playing upfront layering the superb backfour that working perfectly only by the ultimate guard covering the latest defense by the post; pepe reina.

altogether side by side with other players with the longest period of cleansheet amongst the other premier league competition in hyypia, carra, and finnan (hatsoff) he has made this achievement as well as broke past records of clean sheet.

some of us understandably were sentimentally call dudek performance during the istanbul moment over pepe's arrival. however, boss never lets you down. he knows what to do. there was no room for sentiment while he also put an appropriate appreciation in dudek's undisputable contribution by keeping faith in him to remain a part of the team.

pepe's arrival has provided the team with the essential lost that had been a major problems during the last season, the top world class of skilful and confident goalkeeper, that only the kings of europe deserves

thank heaps pepe! :buttrock

(sorry for my cr@p language)

We should have kept Pepe - Villarreal

Spanish club Villarreal have admitted they made a mistake in selling goalkeeper Pepe Reina to Liverpool. The Spanish keeper joined the reds in the summer and has had a impressive first season at Anfield.

"Of Pepe, I will say that we almost signed Victor Valdés, but then Van Gaal arrived at Barcelona and said that the one who could leave was Reina, which delighted Victor Muñoz, our trainer back then, as he considered Pepe the better prospect.

"We gave up something in the transfer of Belletti and we contracted Reina.

"We fought to retain him, but the offer Liverpool was too great. We must be careful with the transfer market, our capacity to make mistakes must be smaller than the big clubs like Madrid or Barcelona."

rafa wouldn't have even the tiniest difficulty (including in terms of assumably proper price) to sell him,  many clubs would want him. you don't need to hang up phone to sell him, just shout it through the sky and dozens of clubs will keep you busy at the phone. but what is the fookin point in selling him especially when some times back we had been whinging in needs of decent winger. and now we have him already safely in our hands and some posters talking about selling him?

it's a bloody madness

There. There. Right There.

Its perfect English!

Not clowning on you Joko or anything, (I think you're the most entertaining poster to have come across in recent weeks) but the cra'ppy English is just getting to some of us.

Though you do make some excellent points sometimes, you can be very fuc'king creepy at others.

Notice I enlarged the word VERY.

interesting topic there actually, joko

according to figure introduced by the official FA website, pepe reina has put himself on the top of the clean sheet list for all over the closing season with total 20 clean sheet, the overall result are as follows:

1 Reina  (Liverpool)  20
2 Van der Sar  (Man Utd)  18
3 Cech  (Chelsea)  17
4 Friedel  (Blackburn)  16
5 Lehmann  (Arsenal)  16

he's also listed on the second place for 'the least conceded goals' next to cech

if the controversial red card against chelsea is exlcuded (involving the king of diver; robben), then reina would be one of the cleanest player in terms of diciplinary record (only receiving the mentioned card, nothing more)

still according to the official site, reina is included in the (this looks like a bit strange having edwin at the top) third place, as shown by following:

1 edwin van der sar 5.39
2 petr cech 5.14
3 jose reina 4.69
4 paul robinson 4.47
5 jens lehmann 4.30

so villareal must be gutted to lose (one of) the best goalkeeper(s) in EPL as well as we must be delighted and proud to have him in our team

:)

Its funny how you are very defensive once someone's mentions how your accent and grammer in your typing changes so much Joko.

If you don't mind me asking what nationality are you???

Like most, I thought Dudek deserved his chance after his heroics in Istanbul. However, once again Rafa has been proved right. Often Reina doesn't have to do a lot as the back 4 is so tight, but he's ready when called into action. I play in goal myself, and I find it easier when I'm busy. In the odd games I don't have a lot to do (my team's cr@p so thats not very often) I've been caught napping a few times when I do have to do something.

As for the rest of the team, I genuinely believe we are only a striker and a right winger short of pushing for the title. Hopefully with Aurelio & Paletta coming in the summer, Traore should finally be on his way out. I think Cisse should be given until January as he's starting to hit a bit of form lately, but Morientes to go with a proven goalscorer coming in.

What a bunch of elitist little c unts there are on this board.

Yes Joko it was a fantastic season and in a lot of years gone by our form would have earned the title.  Personally i think Reina has yet to be severley tested as our defence (thank god) has been outstanding.

Next year....
