Tevez anyone?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I keep reading about rumours of Tevez perhaps leaving Utd in the summer and us being favourites to get him. I myself think that he is an excellent player that might be the answer we need in that creative striker mold (assuming we play Gerrard on the right). I was curious how fans would welcome that (I know it is rumours). Raffa is downplaying it which makes me feel it might be on the cards. When him and Mascha we being flogged around I felt we got the wrong player as we needed Tevez more, now we could get both. I think he may be a world class player one day and we should try and get him.

World class one day? I'd say he's already there mate, it's truly baffling why he gets so little game time at Manure, being behind Berbatov who hasn't really set the world alight. If we can get hold of him and Stewart Downing in the summer then I'll be very very happy indeed.

Yes, the papers here also say Liverpool is one of the teams fighting for Tevez.

But if Ferguson didn't allow Heinze to come to Liverpool and forced his way to Real Madrid, I don't see how he'll allow Tevez to come the team he fears and hates, if he doesn't end contract.

Tevez is a great striker.

I take him any day of week he is hard working striker , very skillful , powerful , scores improtant goals and I feel would link very well with torres.

Can we get him I doubt it very much but you never know.

Big question is what price could we try to capture him and does rafa want him ?

am i right in thinking united dont own him ?. thats the difference between this and the hienze situation.
im sure they will have first refusal on him, but if they are not signing him they will have no say on where he gos.
shamrock rovers and liverpool are not a matter of life and death to me. they are much more important than that.

I liked tevez alot when he was at West Ham... but this season, he hasn't impressed me much... he's skillful and hardworking alright but he doesn't seem to pass and make plays much. Too many times I've seen taller players bully him off the ball as his reach is short... he's not as solid as mascherano on the ball imo...

Ah, yes, that enterprise that used to own both him and Mascherano no?

I'm not sure mate and I'd like to clarify that, it could make a massive difference.

Furgie couldnt do anything about it if he came to us they dont own him, he can play for who ever he wants.

Better ball controll than Dirk, and not prolific infront of goal, undecided about this one really. Another hard worker. Think we need a target man meself and someone who is as prolific infront of goal as Torres.

And an improvement over Keane. Keane is an international, but he wouldn't be an ARgie international in a million years and even with half the Argie population sick, he wouldn't be picked.

I hope rafa has saved the 14-15 million from robbie keane's sale and with his summer chest go for one big signing of 20-30 mil. Eto'o, silva, villa, Ibrahimovic all fits the bill... tevez wouldn't be too bad too...

:D

so kuyt is better than keane because kuyt is a dutch international compared to an ireland one and always get picked...  :D

it would be a mistake to shift gerrard to the right though to fit him in, keep gerrard in his best position, in the middle

He can go anywhere he wants, its not up to United. If they want him they have to pay £30m.

Hopefully Fergie will pay it now it seems we are interested.

Another £30m spent.
