Tevez anyone?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

either way i'm glad we're linked with tevez.

he would be a good player for us

PLUS

i'm quite happy for us to be involved in forcing the scum to blow 30m that could have improved their squad, on a player they already have ....

It won't affect rafa's plans too much - only he knows whether he's interested in the flip flop:D

Pleased we are being linked with a player of Tevez's ability and also a player at that price but I would share the concerns of some on here about where would he play. He is a 2nd striker and with Torres and Stevie G clearly 1st choice pairing in that department where do we fit him in??

Let's use the money to get David Silva / Gareth Barry in and go with the following 3-5-2 formation -

Pepe

Agger
Carra
Skrtel

Silva
Barry
Mascha
Alonso
Kuyt

Torres
Gerrard

Now that is a seriously strong line up :)

With regards Tevez. There has been contact between a couple of LFC players and Tevez (as we've touched on before). He would like to move to Liverpool but much depends on the fee. Is he really worth £30m+? That's the question that Rafa has to try and answer.

I personally believe that we can sign Tevez but it all depends on how much he wants to come to us. If he insists he wants to move to Liverpool then the price will have to come down. (One overseas club has offered £40m if you believe his agents/owners).

I still believe that Rafa will go for Silva  :;):

the good thing with tevez is that we know what to expect:

1) he's shown he can do it in a top side in this league
2) he will  score and provide (14 goals/7assists in PL last season)

in that respect he's risk-free (with respect to an overseas purchase)

Id prefer Silva purley becasue Rafa could still mainly use the present formation/system. With Tevez he would either have to play out of position or Rafa would have to change up the formation. But at the same time it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if we did change the formation. Stevie is that good he will always shine in any position.

gerrard has got 23 goals this season from the second striker roll.
he is playing there because we do not have a good enough replacement, if we were to get tevez and gerrard went back in the mid field yes he may not score the amount he has this year but you would have tevez in there to score the amount gerrard did or more but you would also be adding the fact that gerrard would be in the middle creating more chances for TnT ( as they would now seem to be called )

i know that it would be hard to split gerrard and torres up but i think it you had those 3 plus what ever wingers we end up with, they would rip up the record books and we would be well on are way in the league, defences would not know who to watch

i would like it if we could get him and then maybe a right winger and a right back

off load dossena, lucas, degen, and the babel immediately, possibly N'gog (no better than mellor, imo)

Keep riera, alonso, mascherano along with the usual suspects

Bring in Tevez, iniesta, villa and barry, plus maybe glen johnson, lennon. Plus that geezer that lee j has been harping on about

thats just for starters, imo
