Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Liverpool have offered Kop hero Jamie Carragher a testimonial to commemorate 10 years of great service to the club.
No date has been set for a match and details are still to be finalised.

Since making his debut as a substitute in a Carling Cup defeat at Middlesbrough in 1999 the Bootle born defender has gone on to be a hero with the Liverpool fans.

From his heroic displays in Istanbul and Cardiff when he played through the pain barrier with cramp, the Kop always dream of a team of Carragher's.

The local hero has won every honour with Liverpool except the Premiership title and is rapidly approaching 450 games in a red shirt.

All proceeds to go to alder hey childrens hospital

:bowdown  well deserved, any thoughts on who it will be against ?

He defo deserves it. Great player, top bloke. The bloke is literally a legend.

Although I'm not a fan of testimonials being played before the player retires. I think he'll still be a kit man or something for us when he's like 80 :D

NUMBER 1 IS CARRAGHER
NUMBER 2 IS CARRAGHER
NUMBER 3 IS CARRAGHER
NUMBER 4 IS CARRAGHER

WE ALL DREAM OF A TEAM OF CARRAGHERS
A TEAM OF CARRAGHERS
A TEAM OF CARRAGHERS

ETC

It would be a fitting moment if it was against AC Milan.

I think there should be pre-match shove ha'penny, only using pound coins and using someone in the front row of the crowd as the target. :p

Seriously though, it's amazing to think he's given 10 years service and yet he's arguably in as good nick as he's ever been. Whenever it happens and whoever it's against, I'm sure it'll be a great occasion, and thoroughly, thoroughly deserved. :D

Pity Hamann didnt have a last hoorah shame the way he just left like that, fantastic servant he was.
Cant get a luck in at City probably would have played more for us had he stayed.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
