Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Agger has never played in a central-midfield before for us. He may have played there in the reserves[which I seriously doubt] but to play him ahead of a World Cup finalist, and the man who helped changed the game in Istanbul?

I made that formation before I knew Alonso was fit and I've said that I would put Alonso in the team instead of Agger

Your still dodging the question. Hamann is far more experienced than any of our players in the squad. Pretend that Alonso couldn't make it in the first 11. Why play Agger ahead of an experienced and quality player like Didi Hamann?

Because I feel Agger should be given a chance, and if he doesn't play well in the first half then put Didi on

I'm all for giving players a chance but give them a chance in their natural position. Don't play them out of position and especially not in a fecking cup final.

???

No point trying to argue with him, AB. Just let the dunces of the world play with the little fairies in their heads.

But i remember a reserve game where Agger took the ball from our own half, dribbled up, played a neat 1-2 with someone and had a crack on goal :D

He did a similar thing against Newcastle. Took the ball out of his own half into Newcastle's half, passed to Cisse who crossed to Gerrard. Gerrard then cushioned the header to Crouch and Crouch passed it back to Gerrard who scored our second goal.

Fantastic stuff.

I was simply having a discussion. You lot complain about how things are so bad around here because nobody bothers to discuss football matters, yet when somebody does do it it's called arguing. You can't have it both ways.

I don't mind reading other people's opininons but back up your opinion so the rest of us know why you think that.

If we were thinking about doing a Sven I would much rather see Paul Anderson thrown onto the right side than to play a left footed CB there. Im a big fan of Agger (In his correct position) but its an FA Cup final with almost a full squad to pick from its no time for funny business with squad selections.

But we all agree now with Alonso fit he will probably be in the team so we are talking in the past so lets all hold hands and move on :P
