Kuyt: Torres Is Unbelievable
Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt has lavished praise on strike partner Fernando Torres, who seems to be coming into his own at Anfield.

The one thing that fans of Liverpool or otherwise would agree on is that Fernando Torres is the best thing that has happened to the club in a long long time.

Far too many strikers - and legendary ones at that - have struggled to cope with the Premiership in their first seasons in England to discount just how comfortable he has looked on the pitch.

Even Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba had more than their share of teetihng trouble, but Torres found his rhythm almost in September itself, never looking out of place, and has been scoring very regularly since.

The second half of the season has only seen that increase, and Atletico Madrid's 'El Nino' (the little one, as he was lovingly called after making it into the first eleven while in his tender teens) is on the way to becoming the first striker in years to score over 30 goals for the Reds in a season.

He Is Unbelievable

The latest of his heroics came against Middlesbrough, hit hat-trick guiding Rafa's boys to a 3-2 win, and into fourth place even if provisionally.

"Fernando got us back into it and from then on we went on to control things, even though we had a bit of a scare late on," said Kuyt on the club's website, praising his strike partner.

"He is unbelievable, a really good player."

"I have never seen someone who is that quick with the ball. I don't think anyone is as quick as Fernando is with the ball at his feet. He showed it again against Middlesbrough and if you have a player like that in your team you have to be really happy.

"He is definitely going to get better as well because he is still very young and he has only been playing football in this country for just over six months.

Liverpool's The Place

The Dutchman also believes that the move to Anfield has played - and will continue to play - a vital role in the Spaniard's success.

"No disrespect to Atletico Madrid but I think Liverpool is the real thing, a really big club, one of the biggest in Europe and with the kind of players he has behind him here – the likes of Steven Gerrard, Javier Mascherano, Xabi Alonso – he is only going to improve.

"It is great for everyone in the team to have a player like Fernando up front because he is unbelievable. I think he played really well against Inter in the week but he was even better against 'Boro.

"The hat-trick he scored against them was his second of the season already so that is really good for him and for us."

What is certain is that Liverpool will need a lot more goals from 'El Nino', and probably a few more from Kuyt himself, if they are to secure fourth place in the Premiership and at the same time launch another Champions League challenge.

A lot of it is in Spanish and you may need subtitles for the Dalglish interview  :D

Does anyone mind briefly translating some of the spainish parts?

Is there any video of torres speaking English (scouse) yet , would love to see how he is progressing language wise as the better he can communicate with everyone on the pitch the better he will play and the happier he will be living here and mixing with the other players.

I'd love to see Torres become the top scorer in the league just to see if he gets as much praise as that portugese :censored: called ronaldo.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Look what you get when you pay £20M+

At last another player of Gerrard's quality, takes the pressure off him.

Two consecutive hattricks at anfield, yet people were saying after the Bolton game that this new formation doesn't suit Torres. We've employed it for four games now, Torres has 6 goals, Gerrard 2, Kuyt and Babel with one each.

He'll defo keep it.

But I think he's only playing it in the league with one eye on the
Champions League.

Fingers crossed he will. 4 games, 4 wins with the same four up front.

So expect six changes for Newcastle including Torres and Gerrard to be dropped  :D
