The coach set off for the airport and a few younguns burst into song but with a little half-hearted help for a moment, then nothing they decided to give it a rest.Too many of us were old and had sang and danced all our enegry tanks dry.I drifted in and out of sleep all the way to the airport. We must have been in a convoy because as we arrived at the airport I awoke to see hundreds of fans heading towards the biggest marquee ever. This was no ordinary tent but a huge circus tent of extra large dimensions. We entered, what must have been the holding bay,to be greeted by thousands of fellow supporters waiting for any news on flights.
Hunger had set in big time and to purchase anything in the refreshment line we had to go though the process of buying vouchers and exchaning these vouchers for food. The hot dogs were the closest thing yet to the name. They were disgusting and I had to settle for crisps and water for now.
Met a few other mates who had flown in from Manchester on the day and spent the time relating tales of the day. Here began another round of drinks and all signs of fatigue soon drifted.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW AND TOMORROW IS JUST A DREAM AWAY.
