The problem is that if Torres gets injured, we will only have Ngog and the other youngsters right? Would you really want to play Man Utd for instance, with Ngog and Pacheco/Babel up front? We do need a backup striker for sure.

Back up? We need to have a striker who is very close to Torres level. Horsey would fit the bill for me, he would not do it week in week out, but as an impact sub he would do well and even might play well up front with Nando if the situation arises.

I would to have seen babel get a run in the team as and out and out striker last season when torres was injured. He did well against vidic at anfield and terry at the bridge but never got a run up front. He certainly isn't a left sided player imo
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

I've given up on babel long time ago... He just doesn't have the focus...

I think babel might surprise many of us next season , he certainly seems like he's in rafa's plans if he would have been sold this season

He needs to buckle down and work hard for next season.

Yeah what worries me about Babel is that he shirks out of tackles and seems far too laid back. he does have some talent but if he doesn't apply himself he will never amount to anything, I think we should get rid if we get a decent offer for him.

I agree with this. There is the danger that at some point we may in the future regret not giving him a go as a striker once we sell him, but it dimishes with each rap recording.

That said, in my opinion he is in a different stratosphere as potential front player to N'Gog, and by that I mean a higher one.

Hey this is my first post here so sorry if this has been said before.

RM have ripped us off before and are trying right now offering as laughable bids for Xabi and Arby. So its time for us to get them back, push for a deal for Robben,Van Der Vaart and Van Nistelrooy. If they are strapped for cash after there recent spending spree we may be able to grab a bargain here and get one back up on them.
