Finnan will do for the time being, he has improved etc etc etc, he ISN'T class the way all u lot have been blowing his trumpet.

Who would I replace him with? I'd move Carragher back there and buy a bigger centre half to replace him.

You suggest moving a reliable CB to RB because you said Finnan ain't class...later suggest putting Ostemobor in that position? You seriously think a player who can't get games will be better than Finnan (an international) at current form? While we are at it, StevieG impressed me when he was played at RB last season. Why don't we move him there and buy a Zidane or a Lampard to man our midfield? If you wanna discuss your CM strategy, you are in the wrong forum!

It's my opinion anyway and i'm entitled to it, I don't have to agree with what anyone says, alot of people will agree with me, and alot wont. I pay my money to watch the games so i'm entitled to have an opinion on the matter

What's that got to do with anything? The topic is on Finnan, and all I have stated that he isn't good enough, which I firmly believe.

For me he's the Denis Irwin at Man U figure for us now. Never has a bad game, efficient and effective in equal measure. Before we bought him from Fulham he looked like one of the best right-backs in the Premiership and he's back to that level now. Could prove to be Houlliers best signing.
Staggering really when you look at his form of last season. It's all confidence though really I guess. I've met him a couple of times and he seems a very shy, quiet lad who would be affected by negative vibes from the crowd.
Here's hoping that some of our other players improve as much in their second season. Garcia and Cisse would become real stars then.

Yes I agree to a point. Finnan HAS improved there is no doubt about it!

But i've watched him back out off 50-50's which concern me, i've seen crosses not get past the first man, go over the last man.

I hope he prooves me wrong, infact i'd love to be prooved wrong, but for me he still has to do alot until the memory of last year has gone. I'll leave the subject till May and then make my mind up again

if there was a chance and funds available, i would try to get william gallas - exceptional quality player

I would nt mind gallas either but chelsea will not let him go he is one of there best defenders if we go for any chelase defender we should go for bridge seeing as mourhino said he is looking for a new left back !!
