Just keep it simple. 4-4-2. I'll be happy if we win 1-0. Not bothered. 3 points. Let's keep climbing!

i'm the same jbg.

i'd take a scrappy 1-0 win now. hell we only beat them 1-0 at home for god's sake. as much as i'd like to see us hammer them, i just don't see us as a side who can go out and absolutely hammer teams.

p.s. is le tallec not allowed to play against us?

I would save Alonso for the Wigan game as I think he's still suffering from a niggling injury. No point risking him in a game where other players can very well do the job.

Obviously I'd want Alonso playing if he's over his injury, but if not then I'd pick:

                                               Reina

Finnan                         JC                          Sami                               Warnock

                                                    Sissoko
     Gerrard                                                                               Riise
                                                    Garcia

                                     Mori
                                                               Crouch

There's no way Cisse will start unless someone gets injured/go's out of favour.

i would like to see kewell play in this game, give him a game to see how he is physically. i think riise might be hurt for this game. He did look in pain for some of the game.

D'oh!  I was told it is on Sky.

I've just realised that if we win by two goals we'll go fourth!  Amazing.

Ok I know it may only be for a few hours but come 2.30pm on Saturday, two wins against Sunderland and Wigan will see us lying second, YES SECOND in the Premiership. Not bad for a team who the press would have you believe were "in crisis" about a month ago after the unbelievably shocking feat of losing two games in a row. Looking back now, after we lost at Palace in the League Cup, some people on here were slating the manager, claiming that he'd never find any sort of consistency in the League and were even joking that we should use Benitez for European games and appoint somebody else for Premiership games.

Both Gerrard and Morientes have come out publically recently claiming that we can still feasibly win the title this season. Now whilst I think that's a bit far-fetched, I still think that 2nd or 3rd is easily on the cards. The Premiership is the poorest I can remember this season and to be honest it has been on the decline for the last three years. To be honest, I was saying the same right at the start of the season when everyone was crying crisis at the away draws at Spurs, Boro and Birmingham. For God's sake, at Valencia, I believe Rafa’s side won 1, drew 7 and lost 1 of their first 9 games…then went on and won the league!

Yep, things are looking rosy again. Too often in the past thoughwe have not taken advantage of these games in hand. For me, it is absolutely crucial to get maximum points from these games in hand in order to maintain a foothold in the top 4 which will enable us to mount a challenge for the title.

You may say it is being wildly optimistic to say we can challenge for the title. But if we fall foul of the top spot, at least there is almost a certainty that we will be in the top 4, if not top3 by the end of this season.

He's more likely to score than Crouch anyway.  :D
