But day tripper in a working day and not booing a team in crisis with the manager questioned is much better than any Spanish Crowd, so from my alien point of view they're not awful, it's just that they can't be compared to the most loyal local fans.

In away games you can hear in TV more songs of our team than in nights like this. Today I barely heard Torres one mildly, a slight attempt on Mascherano one I think the YNWA and little less.

Sabes thats part of the problem mate the locals cant seem to get tickets anymore . The atmoshere has changed completly. THERE PRICING OUT THE WORKING CLASS. an until someone steps in an makes it affordable for a man or woman go an maybe take there kids , an local people mind, the atmosphere is gonna go more down hill.

I dunno why it is but at away games most of the following are scousers. But at Anfield it seems the corporates an companys have moved in, with there mobile phones an there videos, most of them dont even know the words of our songs, I was at a game this season an was sitting in the main stand . :censored: hell Sabes the lad of about 19 who was sitting behind me asked his dad which one was Gerrard, Now thats not on.

FFS, that bad? that's not to be a bad Liverpool fan, that rises questions about if the 19 year lad is a football fan at all.

I'd go as far as asking if that lad have been bred by wolves in the mountains.  :O

A couple of years back this very thing was mentioned. I cant remember which final it was international or domestic and I mentioned the same thing back then. When it comes to the big matches the finals, the tickets go to everyone except the supporter. The sponsors, partners or whoever get the tickets for the best seats and are given the priority in allocation.

Tonight however I think the support in general has been hit hard by the reality of what is going on. We had a chance to win the league and now depression is setting in. Its not just people who type on forums getting disgruntled, its actually match goers also. I would point out the daft timing of a premier league match on a tuesday but we carry better atmospheres in european matches so that excuse wont stick.

I also think a lot of scousers could have got tickets for tonights game but decided to save their money and concentrate on getting up for work. The atmosphere was poor, sums up the club really doesnt it? Can you imagine what would happen if we get knocked out of europe? the depression will sink further.

I don't know where you sit Nanny but I'd consider moving if the United Nations surrounding you are getting on your nerves !  :D

I've been on the KOP for years and most of the fans around our section are Scousers.

I think the atmosphere tonight was always going to be subdued as I've already said but I noticed something tonight. When Gerrard went to take a corner in the Annie Rd end there were loads of flashes from camera's and I commented to my mate. He reckoned it might be that a lot of the "Seasies" had perhaps given up their seats for the night to people who don't get to matches hence the amount of piccies beeing taken.

The OOT debate has been done to death on here but you have to accept that LFC is a "Big" club and attracts interest from around the world especially after 2001 and 2005.

My own experience of going to the match started in the 80's and was interupted for 5 years post Hillsborough. When I got my Season ticket back in 94 there were empty seats at almost every game back then.....................

There wasn't a 25,000 waiting list for Season tickets back then so you have to concede that local people weren't taking up that option back then.

The crowd was always going to be subdued tonight after saturdays poor result and the league slipping away.
There are plenty of scousers still on the kop  well there are were I sit for 50% of homes games (I share a season ticket with a mate)
We won tonight, if we were out sung, so what you don't get points for singin'
Lots of people can't afford £20-£30 especially local people but its all about bums on seats thats how we pay the big bucks to Gerrard, Torres and co

Blaming out of town support for the lack of atmosphere at Anfield is an easy excuse.  To be honest though, how many out of town supporters will make it to Anfield for a midweek game, especially when most people who can afford ticket prices these days have jobs to go to??  The vast majority tonight would have been locals.

Dalglish is right though, tonight was always going to be subdued due to what's happened to our league challenge recently.  He's also right about the corresponding fixture at the stadium of light.  I was at that game too and the Liverpool end was silent throughout.  You can't blame the atmosphere on away days on out of towners, because almost all the travelling support are locals.
