If anything the Marseille game showed up once again our need for a central defender with some pace plus apart from Stevie G someone in central midfield who can create something.I think we should pass on spending more money on another striker (even if Owen leaves us) and be prepared to spend as much as we can afford on sorting out these two areas....... what do you guys think ? Another striker ? or midfield playmaker and central defender with brain and pace ? ???  ???  ???

Cole is still developing, give him another season or two,he has the talent just needs the experience. Smith ? well he has a lot of passion but somehow not quite right for us.
Going back to Joe Cole, yeah ......... If he's not happy at Chelsea we should try and pinch him. :)

Le Tallec is 19 and has huge potential.

Cole is a good player and would be a good aquisition, but the main areas that DESPERATELY need to be improved are a Striker to partner Owen, a Right sided midfielder and a pacey and classy centre half... i cant think of a centre half who'd fit expect maybe Ferdinand... that isn't likely to happen :(

I think Owen's latest injury could be a blessing in disguise. His heart is no longer there, maybe it is the contract and maybe he needs a manager who can get the best out of him and the team. Gerald "The Excuse" Houllier is not the man. The fans have lost patience with him, and so have some of the players.

Interesting post, lads.

I do agree about Svenson will be good signing for Liverpool, we need experience centre back who've been playing in the PL. But Dawson will be good for us, could have him as squad player cos he is only young and Div.1 player too.

Can't see Van der Vaart to join us cos that he is on the way to Wankchester, those scum b@stard who have been sniffing in our plan!!

If we got Cisse, do we need another striker like Forssell, we have got too many strikers, we need right midfielder like Malbranque or J.Cole or something like that.

you know guys we should'nt be complaining about in's and outs.  We should be moaning about the price of pies and programmes.  About how much a ticket costs, about having to que for tickets for Euorpean Semi finals, About not getting a ticket for cup finals in general.  About the state of the pitch, about the kit and about parking around Anfield, about bad odds from the bookies and about how bad all the other teams are these days.  We should be moaning about our reserves and the state of the toilets.

This however is what we've come to, we all want to give our opinions about who we should buy, we all want to manage Liverpool.  Before king kenny left and for over thirty years before we only moaned about the facilities.  This ais what we've come too.  I don't want to pick the team, I don't want to talk about tactics and I bet countless thousands of you agree.  the only out I want this summer is Mr Houllier and I'll be happy with Mr O'Neill coming in.

Big Al, Shakespeare himself couldn't have worded it better!

We must pull out all the stops to get O'Neill asap, then we can worry about pies & programmes knowing the there's a man sorting out all the other stuff for us!

Somehow I think we focus too much on new signings. Making good signings have importance. More important is training. I feel none of our signings have improved after coming to Liverpool. They have all stagnated or even become worse. While some managers (i.e. AW) brings out the best in their players, some managers fail. This is why GH have to go.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.
