Rafa, Stevie... who are we going to turn on next?   Lets blame Shanks ffs......

Wouldn't go as far as saying "to turn on" but the word "frustrated" is more apt.

I have critised Stevie and i critisised him yesterday , dosnt stop me still thinking hes a great player or i am being fickle, Why is he not allowed to be slated every now an again , It dosnt mean i wanna get rid , im just voicing my opinion that latley he has not been the Stevie we all know , hes not doing a captains job by rallying the team, Just because he is Steven Gerrard doesnt make him immune from being slated evey now an again , He is still the best player in a Liverpool shirt and i would be devastated if he left us , but he just like the rest of the team and the manager can be critersised ,

Although some of the criticism has been a bit over the top on Gerrard I think that people are still entitled to their opinions, calling the fans "fickle" over Gerrard is not right in this day and age because football has moved on and we need results straight away and if a player who is on £120k a week has had a real poor season by his own admission I think the fans have every right to question him like any other player,  he has had probably his worst season for us.

I honestly think this is his last season with us and his body language has been just as bad as Fernandos.There was moments in the game against the mancs were they were breaking into our half were he would normally be racing back to try and get the ball but I spotted him on a few occasions just walking back.

If we would of sold Gerrard last summer after the season he had we would of got 40m+ and if we sell him this season it has been said it will be 20m+, I think we have certainly missed an opportunity in making the most money out of him and you may well say that I'm fickle blahdy blah but we need to make sure the "CLUB" progresses and if that means selling our best player of the last 10 years then so be it.

Nanny that is totally fair but some people on here have been calling for his head, saying he's a disgrace etc etc, it has been way over the top and very strange.
Nobody is saying Gerrard is immune from criticism, I actually agree as I'm sure he does himself that he has been below par this season but then so has Nando if we are being fair.

The only other thing I would say though is that his body language has been disappointing for a club captain.  I haven't been impressed by his form or at times his attitude on the pitch this season, but his heroics in the past do earn him some leeway as you say.  He better snap out of it soon though for the good of the club.

As for Mick's suggestion that he has still been our best player this season... suffice to say I don't agree with this.  Reina and perhaps Mascherano are the only two players who I think have played consistently well this season.  Even Torres when he has played has been a spoiled brat arguing with officials all the time, despite his obvious brilliance when he puts his mind to it.

I've never thought he's been a brilliant leader and captain. Best player I've ever seen in a red shirt but as a captain he's good but not superb.

Our best player this season has been Pepe Reina by miles and miles, no argument about it.

The poll of best outfield player also argues against Stevie. 68 votes and the only players that didn't get a vote were Gerrard and Ngog. Mascherano was the winner by some distance followed, surprisingly by Lucas and Kuyt.
