I know its only the 1st competitive match of the season....so i am gonna cut some slack...but we still haven't solved the problem of stretching teams apart from the wings since rafa came here 4 years ago.

If rafa persists with Kuyt as a RW....then he is digging his own grave as long as his liverpool managerial career is concerned...

I thought both our full backs looked p!ss poor and Dossena looked a liability for the first 20mins. Agger and Carra hardly won a header all night and looked rattled for most of the night.

I thought Alonso after 20mins of looking like the only player with any class got found out YET AGAIN. As soon as he starts getting pressured the passes get poorer and poorer , he starts passing sideways and eventually joins the rest of the launch it up field and pray it doesn't come back too quickly brigade.

Kuyt worked hard and defensively was probably our best full back tonight, he certainly showed nothing going forward, while Keane showed with a couple of poor passes that he is no Dalglish.(OR GERRARD!) The one real occasion when we threatened, Torres was in full flow all he needed was the ball slid into his stride and he was through and clear, unfortunately Keane messed up the pass and Torres finished up out near the wing with the threat gone.

Reina m.o.m by a street, with Plessis too young to take too much blame, and Benayoun and Torres the only two other players to at least attempt to do more than just kick it as far away from themselves as they could.

The warning signs against Lazio were ignored and tonight we were very very lucky not to pay a very heavy price for our nonperformance.

I was about to post a nice comment about the game...Until i saw some disgusting racist comments about Belgium.

I feel very sad for the guys who write this kind of sh1t. Ciggy : you got a problem man, sort it out with professionnal help. Might be frustration after tonight's game...

i was at the stadium in Liege :
1) This is the Liverpool crowd ??? Come on, i didn't hear your 3000 men once and i was 30 meters (yes meters) away !!!
You may have got out with a draw, but you definitely lost the game in the stands. A big disappointment regarding your reputation.

2) Pretty much everyone here was scared of a 0-3 or 0-4 beforehand. Pretty much everyone was disgusted with the draw after the game.
Liverpool looked like a subtop belgian team in weak form, sorry to say it. Whereas Standard played at Champions League pace : like Premiership, Belgian League has not begun.

3) Hope Reina gets injured, great player.

4) I hope your team is as confident as you all are about your win at Anfield. Few come to win at Anfield ? Don't care, we only need a scoring draw. Keep on underestimating us and we'll send you in UEFA cup.

Bottom line is Belgium is shi'te and has no real use to anyone apart from Belgians and chocolate lovers all over the world!
The bottom bottom line is we were very poor tonight and will MURDER you at Anfield...You got us on a bad night and failed to capitalise...When you come to Anfield it is time to pay!!

I fail to understand why when we were bad all over the park there are some people who choose to focus just on kuyt... I think you guys have quite some obsession with kuyt...

You got a nil nil ffs what do you want a medal? if you couldnt even score at home in front of great support agaist a woefull and under stenght Liverpool performance what chance do you have at anfield when we've got a couple of matches under our belt and star players back. You had your chance and you fk it, couldnt even score an absolute gift of a pen and the player who took it wants putting down, worst pen ive seen in a long while, you even missed an open goal, just put your head on it and its in, off his shoulder    were so scared.

ironic that you speak of them not being able to convert their chances when we hardly had ANYTHING. and when we have a supposed striker in kuyt it makes it even funnier. i dont think you were that cocky DURING the match were you? we couldnt even score at all when we dominated man utd at anfiield and they did it with one chance so many times the same thing has happened. pot kettle black. face it, Standard Liege Fan's post is quality. i have to agree with everything except the bit where reina gets injured. this is a good wake up call to the lads.

I fail to understand why when we were bad all over the park there are some people who choose to focus just on kuyt... I think you guys have quite some obsession with kuyt... 

because kuyt is consistently bad mate, it wasnt just a one off for him, yet he keeps getting selected. you work it out mate because for the life of me i cant understand what rafa see's in him, unless once again we will have a defensive season and set up to defend agaisnt the likes of wigan and birmingham   


you have to laugh mate, but people will still find excuses for it

The fk are you on? like i said we couldnt have played worse yet they didnt beat us, didnt even score even though they were handed a pen, now is that "cocky" or is it the plan facts? You may not know this but its actually quite natural for a Liverpool supporter to defend his team and have banter with oppo fans.

A defensive season? We scored the most goals of any team in the league in all competitions last season, so how's this defensive? I know Brazilians like to say that the best line of defense is attack, so maybe that's what you meant?

oh come on mate, when did you last see us set up to not try and counter the oppo, we never set up with our strongest attacking line up, if we do then please explain to me the constant inclusion of one of our worst ever forwards.

imagine how good we would be if we left the oppo to counter us instead of rafa worrying about the likes of birmingham (i wont play torres as he can't play against deep laying defences    )
