Reina: Reds move a possibility
Liverpool, Sunday May 22 2005
Villarreal goalkeeper Jose Reina has admitted he would consider a move to Liverpool after numerous reports linking him with the Premiership club.

The 22-year-old former Barcelona player has found himself at the centre of transfer speculation following an impressive season in the Primera Liga.

Villarreal director Jose Manuel Llaneza confirmed earlier this month that Liverpool have been in touch about Reina, and now the player has added further fuel to the rumours by admitting a lucrative deal with the Champions League finalists is not out of the question.

"I can't deny it, it's a possibility," he said. "Money isn't the only thing in football but it is the only tangible thing at the end of your career.

"However, there are a lot more things to consider and it depends on how the move suits Villarreal. We will speak when the league is over. At the moment there is a lot at stake for the team and I can't be thinking just about myself."

Reina, who was called up to the Spanish national squad for the first time this week, has been a key player in Villarreal's successful season.

Manuel Pellegrini's side are currently fourth in the standings, and wins in their final two matches against Barcelona and Levante would earn them a place in next year's Champions League.

I wouldnt touch Hargreaves with a Shi**y stick to be honest dont think he is good enough and he will want to much money to be a squad player.

I dont think he will be on more money than Hamann, who will probably be leaving...as for not good enough, Agreed he's not better than Gerrard or Alonso but he is better than any of the other midfield squad players.
£2.5 is peanuts as well....its half what Diao cost.

i watched the barcelona vs villerreal game last night and reina was all over the place. flapping at crosses etc.

lets just hope it was a bad day at the office if we're seriously thinking about paying £8m for him. :help

Liverpool move for Man Utd defender O'Shea
tribalfootball.com - May 23, 2005

John O'Shea is set to become the first player to move from Manchester United to hated rivals Liverpool in more than 40 years.

Daily Star says Kop fan O'Shea is a £2.5m target for Rafa Benitez, who wants to do business as soon as possible after Wednesday night's Champions League Final against AC Milan.
If the Ireland defender makes the switch, he will be the first player to do so since Phil Chisnall joined Liverpool from United in 1964.

Yeh not for 2.5 million I wouldn't think

Quality player though who I would wholeheartedly welcome. Signing him I think would be a real kick in the teeth for Manchester.
