Spurs offered £2m for wright-phillips - Man c need £ - should we go in for him?

Very interested to see that Spurs had a £2m offer for Wright-Phillips turned down. I know a lot of people have their reservations about him (flash in the pan and all that), but I see him as a good young prospect that's already performed against some top Premiership opposition. If £2m is some kind of ballpark figure, I'd seriously consider bidding £4-£5m to see if Man City bite. He'd be an excellent acquisition for the problem right hand side.

I'm not sure Benitez is interested to nbe honest mate although I can see the reasons why you think he would be a good buy for us. I'm unsure o be honest and I'd mush rather see a proven right midfielder like Alonso at LFC or better still Rosicksky  :D

would be very tempting for a fee of around 3million, we need a right midfielder and SWP could do well here. Not my first choice, but getting the likes of Joaquin and others would cost about 5 times that much.
will be interesting to see what happens.

does Xabi Alonso play RM Ian, i thought he played in the centre.
Rosicky, no contest, he would be no1 choice for our RM problem for sure.

do you still think we will get Ballack??  :D

Actually, now I've said that, the Telegraph are reporting that Spurs actually offered £5.5m before they came in for Smurf. They do mention, rather spuriously, that LFC are interested in SWP though.

Thank you "Statto" for the information !!! :D

Whilst we are in the "Speculation" mode, in terms of midfiled and assuming we don't sign anyone this week who will play right midfield on Saturday ? Don't laugh but I think Benitez may play Gerrard in that position and Biscan in the middle with Hamann !!!! I didn't say I agreed with that selection as my opinions on Biscan are well documentated ........

yeh, I am thinmking he might play Finnan on the right of midfield, which Gh did a couple of games last season, because Josemi or Carra will fill the RB role.

I suspect we may well have a replacement for Murphy come Saturday but even if we sign him tomorrow it's not a long time to get a  player preapared for a game Saturday ???

Putting Daio, Biscan or Finnon out on the right will be effectively nullifying anything from that side in terms of crosses, width,  etc.... Only Gerrard and perhaps Baros can play that position at present and if you look at the right midfield slots at other clubs i.e. Pires, Ronaldo, Duff , it tells you what a vital position on the pitch it is .......

Personally I'd recall Tellac back if no one signs this week but i suspect Benitez has someone lined up .....

Given the number of players that he's shipped out, there are clearly signings on the horizon. At least 2 more, I'd say.

And man, how good would it be if Benitez assembled a side containing £2m-£3m signings and managed to finish above Chelski?
