Liverpool seal Pellegrino signing

Pellegrino partnered Roberto Ayala at the back for Valencia
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has signed defender Mauricio Pellegrino from his former club Valencia.
The 33-year-old, who has endured an injury-hit season with the La Liga side, joins on a free transfer.

Pellegrino, who joined Valencia in 1999, helped them reach back-to-back finals in the Champions League under Hector Cuper in 2000 and 2001.

He played in the Spanish title-winning sides of 2002 and 2004, and last year's Uefa Cup final win over Marseille.

"I feel very satisfied as it's a personal choice made by Benitez, who was the one to tell me of this possibility," Pellegrino said.

"At my age, it's a great satisfaction that this opportunity comes along. I have always wanted to play in English football."

Rafa, obviously sees him as a safe bet after Diouf. He's even too old for 'Grab a Granny' night at the Grafton and nights out with Rooney's Slags and Slappers.

Not really the transfer we are waiting for,you get all keyed up for the window and then they sign a 33yr old sausage.Oh well things can only get better i hope.Oh and where do Newcastle get all their money from.Parry take note!!! :angry:

It dosn't sound like the kind of signing that will have Gerrard saying we are going places and i'm going to stay to be part of it !!

So do i mate,but hes been injured most of this season so theres a lack of fitness and he cant play for us in the champs.l because he came on as a sub for Valencia
