Should we call some of our loan players back?

Cisse had a different haircut for every game. That says to me that his mind was 100% on the upcoming game. I never liked him and the night I had enough (i can't remember what game it was but it think it was CL) but he was playing on the right and with three attempted crosses in sucession, he hit their left back three times with the ball. It's harder to hit the same spot three times than get the ball in the box.
You might say 'Well, he's not a winger' - I say he's a professional footballer and if he can't get the ball into the box, what's he doing palying football?

lol, I guess u aint watched Pennant then.  Cisse managed to contribute more playing RW than Pennant has.

I dont really want to get into an argument about Cisse @ Liverpool but it was obvious to many that he never really had the backing of his manager or felt wanted.  That effected his game.

His only just back from injury now but seems a lot happier full of confidence, scoring goals.

scoring goals isnt our problem, so whats the point in bringing back pongolle or cisse?

defence hasnt been our problem until the last 2 ga,es, and reina has done well enough over xmas so i dunno....

but why strikers? we scored 3 goals last game and that should win us any game at anfield. we need to sort out the whoe team, not individual places

and as for strikers, some just cant cope with the pressure of liverpool. look at james, he wasnt all that with us, but is considered one of the best. A keper who is good at charlton is not guarunteed to good with us

David James was always very good.  He has always had the attributes just mentally he wasnt with it.  His a fantastic keeper!!

I think everyone needs to chill the f*ck out. :D

We lost two cup games on the bounce, yes. This is not panic stations time though. In the 7 league games before our cup exits, we had 6 wins and 1 loss, scoring 17 goals and conceding only one.

Okay, so injuries are mounting a bit, but we still have several options, the most obvious being Aurelio playing ahead of Riise on the left.

Pennant had his best performance of the season in the last league game we played, so quite why people are suddenly saying Cisse should come back and take his place I have no f*cking clue. Cisse is no longer a Liverpool player as far as I'm concerned. He'd probably tell you the same.

The Pongolle situation is more interesting, as I do wonder if he'll come back in the summer to take over the fourth striker's slot from Robbie. All of Bellamy, Kuyt and Crouch have scored and scored well in recent games though, so why there's a hurry in some people's eyes I don't really understand.

As for Carson, I suspect that our move for Padelli is in anticipation of Charlton making his signing permanent during the window. He's having an excellent season, but I still think Reina's our first choice for a good while longer.

Honestly though, people do need to calm down. The two cup exits were massively disappointing, but I'd be a lot more worried if the second had come with us fielding anything resembling a full strength side. If we'd lost 1-0 or 2-1, I think this board would be a lot less stressed than it is now. Bottom line is that the Carling Cup is a nice trinket, but I'll take a 6-3 reverse against Arsenal in that competition if it's followed by us winning at the Nou Camp. Any f*cking day.

He's a forward and he'll only be third or fourth choice maybe Rafa would give him the nod over Fowler, but not Bellamy, Kuyt or Crouch. He would of been useful in those Carling cup games but thats about it TBH. Carsson I'd leave him where he is for even more experiance, he'll again be warming the bench, I dount like tempting fait, but I cant see Reina getting injured. And as for Cisse, if nothing else in a time like this I wouldnt think he's the personality you'd want in the dressing room when the chips are down so to speak, and really you wouldnt want him on the pitch he's just not good enough.

i agree mate with carson, but only because personally i don"t think is good enough for us! and why would the other two come back when they are both getting first team football. however say what you want, i will always say that ciise"s goal in the f.A. cup final was fecking brilliant, he has got talent it"s just a shame about his attitude and we can certaintly do with out that right now! if raffa believed in them they wouldn"t be on loan in the first place, it"s his way of saying prove yourself else where and hopefully the club will get a good fee for you!

Why are we loaning an Italian goalkeeper for 6 months when we have Carson out on loan to Charlton?

We definitely can call Carson back off loan, Rafa said before Christmas that it was an option(recalling Carson) that he wouldnt be using.

For me Carson has been 1 of the best keepers in the league this season and is there much point loaning a keeper who is hardly going to play any games?

I think we're gonna see Dudek going in this window.

The reason he's loaning someone in to sit on the bench is cos he doesn't want Carson doing exactly that.

I think this is the right move by Rafa. Bring in the Italian as cover for the rest of the season, and by next season Carson should have enough experience to challenge Reina.
