I voted 'Yes' . I hated doing it but I can't see how things are going to change.

I actually think he's deluded , I've just come across this statement from him before the derby. Hadn't read it before.

"I think it would be a sad day for football and for Liverpool if someone who had been brought in with the pomp and circumstance, and the money it took them to release me from my previous contract, and being feted as one of England's best managers - if after eight games people are deciding this guy has got to go," he said.

"It would be sad for me. These things happen in football. You can't have the years in football I've had without ever being sacked, but it would be a sad day for Liverpool because that isn't Liverpool's style. So I find that type of question insulting to me and even more insulting to the club.

"They didn't employ me lightly. It took them two months to make the decision, they interviewed a lot of people before they decided I was the right man and they paid Fulham the compensation they wanted.

"For me the job is not two and a half months, it's longer than that. But I'm aware that if we keep losing then people might say 'this is not the right man'."

The fact he says he's feted as one of England's best managers is a bit of a worry !!  :O

5,000 Zulus and we've only got 5,001 bullets.

The owners will pull the trigger when they are ready - 'when you can see the whites of their eyes'.

Yes I agree, at 19th place you can see the whites of their eyes but I'm not the owner.

The problem is for Roy that he has already lost most of the fanbase, and they ain't coming back regardless of what he does. I know some people are getting tired of hearing it, but until Liverpool as a club is united behind one manager, one cause, we will never prosper. That hasn't been the case for many years, since the first lot of yanks came in, and it needs to be the case now.

Wipe the slate clean, get someone else in, and the fans need to get behind it even if whoever it is doesn't happen to be their first choice.

That will happen when the manager is great. People united in thier love for Shankly, Paisley, Daglish because they were great managers. If someones not good enough all the positive energy in the world wont change that.

I think NESV will let it run its course. They don't want to be accused of making rash decisions, of giving a manager who was widely respected before his appointment - and who arrived in a tricky situation - no time or very little time to prove himself under a change of regime. I don't think that would be a bad thing, either, but not because I hold any real hope that Roy will transform the team's fortunes (for me it's a question of when), but because if he was sacked very soon, whoever was appointed (I presume Kenny would take charge at least in the interim) would inherit the same squad, still in the bottom three, and with all the pressure of making instant improvements. At least if you held off a little longer and the team's situation didn't significantly improve, it would be easier to justify the decision to get rid, and you could move on without any real lingering doubts about the decision. FWIW, I would have had Kenny in about 2/3rds of the way through last season, and I'm all for him taking over should Roy not see out this season. Then, you'd get to see what he could do before making a firm decision in the summer. The fans will definitely unite behind him, too - I doubt any other British manager would get a fair crack.

His negative play totally contradicts what Liverpool Football CLub are all about!!! I mean a manager that succeeds in making Fernando Torres look an average player by the way he manages his team really has to be  joke!! We all know Torres is a great player - he must think WTF is this "punt it up the park" style of football......Not the way ANY team should play let alone LiverpoolFC!!!!

For the first time in my life as a fan, I am typing with almost tears in my eyes that I want Napoli to thrash liverpool tomorrow. This will put even much more pressure on the board and NESV to act fast to to find a good replacement for Roy otherwise liverpool will become a laughing stock not only in England but throughout the football world.

From what I can read in all liverpool fan forums, it is now not whether should Roy leave, it's who will be the best person to replace him before Christmas (preferably after the Blackburn match).

I believe Rijkaard and Pellegrini and Kenny are the top 3 favourites. I don't mind whichever one of them comes in, he must be able to work harmoniously with the board (not easy) and be able to command the respect and make the most of our players esp. Torres and Gerrard and start playing attacking football.

The board made the club's biggest blunder in appointing Roy in appointing Roy in the summer but fortunately they redeemed themselves in getting rid of those 2 leeches. Now they have to rectify their biggest blunder by getting rid of Roy.

its such a shame that Roy has done so poorly. being an english manager, with experience in the league for years i was expecting better.
i was under the impression that he would perform better considering the fact that he would be having a better disposal of players at Liverpool compared to his previous club.
i really thought 7th was the worse then we could get, considering the quality of the first 11.
but as time goes by, it seems more and more obvious that he has a small club mentality.
he pays too much respect to the opponents, he talks to much to the media and he is behaving like a media whore.
he has very negative tactics in the sense that he invites opponents to attack us which i feel like not something a club like Liverpool should be doing.
i was hoping that he would bring a new found sense of optimism to the team following a deluded last season but clearly things have not improved and when you look at the table, it has gotten worse.
and all this time i have defended him for the simple reason that i feel anyone coming in should be given a chance and not be slagged off and called all kinds of stuff even before he had a run of games.
he has had a run of games now and i am not impressed. i guess the straw that broke the camel's back for me was his comments to the media. not just regards Torres, but numerous other comments. the more he talks, the more i feel he is sleeping with Moyes and Fergie.
he has to go. his time is up.

Hi there, I am a Liverpool fan in the far east, so when I was typing it was a Wed afternoon and by the time the match started it was our early hours of Thursday morning. So both of us were right depending on where our location is. I hope that clears the air.

Let's us all pray for better time for our club soon with a change of manager.

No from me, mainly because it would be just an obscenely small amount of time for anyone to prove themselves and reduce us to no better than the Newcastle's of this world. He's in the job now whether we like it or not and he would not be the first manager to have a terrible start but to pull it around in the end. For me, he's in his own personal "half time in Istanbul" situation - let's see what he can do in the next few weeks to turn it around. I am not overly confident that he will do it, all I am saying is that he deserves the chance to do so. (I must say though that his performances in front of the media are utter sh!te and that needs improving as much as the results).

Obviously though there comes a time when you have to face facts and make the decision. If we continue to lose home games to the likes of Blackpool, then he'll have to go, but to suggest replacements like MON? No thanks. If he has to go, Kenny must take over until a really proven, top class guy can be found for the long term - no more gambles please. I mean - honestly - MON? ??? We cannot afford to make a false move with the next long term appointment.

Good luck to the lads on Sunday.
