SHEFFIELD UNITED VS LIVERPOOL - the premiership assault begins

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Finnans not playing according to TV, and Hyypia had a dead leg from wednesday night, not sure if he's recovered yet.
This shower will treat this game like a Cup Final, and with one eye on our CL qualifier next week I suspect some players will be rested.
I doubt Garcia or Alonso will play.
I think Fowler and Pongolle will play?
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

he can play but I don't think he will. He hasn't even trained with the rest of the team yet and playing him would be throwing him in at the deep end IMO. But then again........ his goalscoring ability is good.

I understand your point adam, we can still see him play next week hopefully.

--------------Reina---------------
Finnan-Carra-------Hyypia-Riise-
Pennant-Gerrard-Sissoko-Gonzalez
--------Bellamy--Crouch----------

Based strictly on form and who was used in the friendly on Wednesday. I think Aurelio will get a shout and probably Garcia as subs, I am thinking 4-0, probably look rubbish in the first half, and Rafa will sort it out and get the gears rolling for a dominant second half.

Our club is too good not to win this one, C'MON REDS!

I could of sworn that was said about Fulham last season and we lost 2-0, I'd expect nothingless but a hard fought contest from Sheff Utd. I doubt they'll be push overs by any stretch of the immagination.

???  Err all the :censored: he has said about us over the years, and when he said a year ago, his team where as good as Liverpool  ???
He is just a first class tool, cant wait to see him and Maureen have a scarp though it will be class  :D

he was also recored telling his players to "break their f**king legs" from the touch line....

Yes and Steve Bull came out and accused him of telling one of his players to go and break his leg in the Wolves vs Sheff Utd match a good few years ago now.

The guy is a nasty piece of :censored:.

Yeah they are a very physically strong side and they will  play that sort of game against us but they lack quality so we should be able to beat them

Yeah, I agree with that, but I'll go for a 2-0 win, I really can't see a bigger win than that.

This is going to be a real battle. Promoted teams at home on the first day of the season are as difficult as getting a top 6 side IMO. They'll be fired up and Warnock will be telling his players to fly in to every challenge. I'm very concerned about injuries to players with that dirty kunt as their manager. Sheff Utd are a physical side which is pretty tough to break down... I hope we win 1-0, but I woudln't be surprised if we drew tbh.

C'mon reds!

I am looking forward to this so much, I am sick of waiting for the start of the season...........!
3-0 would suit me nicely!

Why such an early kick-off?  Its at a nice 21:30 time for us Aussies.....

It's a lunch time (Uk) kick-off mate, there is usually one a weekend.
