i don't think it really matters about the starting lineup to be honest. warnock's bunch of thugs are going to get a footballing lesson.

                                    reina

         finnan       carragher        agger         aurelio

         pennant     gerrard          sissoko        riise

                         crouch          bellamy

4-0 to us (yes i am that confident). bellamy(2), gerrard and crouch to get the goals.

that'll put that tw@t warnock in his place. he'll be glad that he's banned to witness the humiliation from the touchline.

The training has been done and its time for three points so get the strongest team out and lay down a marker but with full use of substitutes

Depending on how long Gerrard and Crouch feature tonight i think he may rest them on saturday. Hope not though, this is how i would line up:

                          Reina

Finnan       Carragher     Hypia      Aurelio

Gerrard        Alonso      Sissoko      Risse

                 Garcia
                                 Crouch

Would have Bellamy to come on later to inject some pace.  Would play Gerrard and Risse on this occasion to give us support defensively.

Would go for Hypia over Agger in this game as it may require a bit of experience and i cant see Hypia being out-paced by Shipperly.

from a sheff utd fan on "spying kop" on RAWK.

Q. What do you think of Warnock, he’s had a bit of a strange relationship with a certain section of the fans hasn’t he?

A: I f#cking hate the bloke to be honest, I don't know a single person who dosen't, and to be honest he is a total c#nt. I thought after we got promoted I might give him the benefit of the doubt. But he spent the entire promotion celebrations grabbing the microphone at every oppotunity to have a pop at us for ever questioning his divine authority.[/B]

Reina

   Finnan          Carragher     Hyypia        Aurelio

     Pennant       Gerrard       Sissoko         Riise

                       Crouch        Bellamy

With 20 or 30 minutes left bring on Alonso, Gonzales if needed.

Why does Reina keep going on the corner flag?

Is he going to take our corners now?

:D

Any news on Fowler yet? If he is fit then I won't mind seeing him in 1st team.

The main difference going into our first game this season as against last season, is how confident I feel about our ability to open up the defense of the so called "lesser teams". We have great options with height, pace , skill , flair and finishing. Wingers that can stretch a defence by playing wide, a midfield that can handle the physical side and dominate possession, and our dependable defence to handle any problems. All this and a manager thats second to none.

i don't really know a lot about sheffield united to be honest. have they actually signed anyone this summer? ???

i remember us playing them in the carling cup semi's in 2003. they had that kid michael tonge on the left side who scored twice in the first leg. he looks like decent player. jagielka is another player who could do well this season.

however all in all, i just can't see how they can hurt us, apart from at set pieces.

I think they signed Rob Hulse off Leeds but I cant think of any others.
Tonge is a good player, comes from Leigh nr Wigan, and Liverpool were rumoured to be after him about 3 years ago.
