When your getting beat  3-1 why take a defender off Hyypia  and then Traore to make it 4-1
We had this shower of cheats over a barrel the first half its obvious we have not got the personel to compete with them, but come on, we are getting beat 4-1 the euro champs against the prem winners, our defence has been emense till today.
What hell is going on
I am so angry at Rafa's decisions today he persists with Garcia who has been rubbish in the last 2 games.
He takes a defender off and not Crouch IMO has not done much today, I feel embarressed its pathetic and a disgrace 2-1 I can take but not 4-1 some serious issues need to be adressed they have raped us today.
And dont get me started on bringin Cisse on with 8 mins left and leaving Luis on.

Sorry mate but no manager brings 2 defenders off who are doing a good job, and leaves 2 players on that arnt, Hyypia and Traore ok Traore messed up with the pen, but why take Hyypia off, when Garcia done nothing again or our wonder striker that cost 8 million Peter Crouch ???
And Cisse and Pongolle get left on the bench.Sorry if any one is vexed or pleased Rafa has not sussed out the prem and we could be in big trouble.
I just cant understand the subs he made today.

MY view of that was that the game was essentially beyond us at that point and I quite liked the fact that he was willing to gamble like that. That said, Chelsea should have taken us to the cleaners and did.

Yes it is right but I must say that Hypia wasnt so good he was so slowly and not in a good place (mark.
I think Cisse should play from the begining of second half .
in any way we should ignore it

Weren't you telling us all to get off Garcia's back on in another thread Lynd's?

It's all over and done with, yes it was a big disgrace, but it will be a HUGE kick up everyone's a*s.

Yes I did but I am not the manager FFS even a blind person could see he needed to be subbed, but Rafa bought him and he is going to consist with him along with Crouchino our super wonder striker. :)

 Crouchinho lol
I Know most people on here like him but im not convinced with Ol Crazey Legs at all. Surely we need a striker who at least puts a bit of fear into the opposition defence? Wether it be pace (cough ) Goal history (cough) or even rough tactics hard to handle style. Crouch  looks so awkward, slow and prim and tidy ,like bambi on ecstacy. As for Garcia

What I didnt like about it was that Rafa stuck to his gameplan, even when crouch was inefective, garcia wasteful, Traore clownlike, Hypia slow, Hamman out of touch we had two guys sat on the bench in Cisse and Pongolle who would at least change the aspect, but no Rafa stuck to his idea of 4 - 5 -2  with Crouch as the one man up front, whose he gonna hold it up for exactly ? a head on legs, I m sorry but when he gets beat in the air by Makelle and carvahlo its time to change things round a bit, but no Rafa sticks to his gameplan as though he just wants to show whose in charge im sick of it today, working with CFC fans is not nice, there is a lot wrong with LFC right now, thank feck for ISTANBUL but we cant ride that gravy train for ever! January needs a big transfer scoop or we can kiss LFC as we know it goodbye (hopefully not for long)!!!

Crouch was not ineffective..it was the lack of support that was ineffective...watch the bloody game

I agree Supersub.

Crouch got smoothered a lot yesterday by Chelsea as Liverpool did not get much support to him. On Wednesday night Garcia got up beside him and this caused Chelsea trouble. Yesterday Crouch was often marked by two or three Chelsea players when the ball got to him. The reason for this was because Liverpool were not throwing enough players forward to support him.

We rarely got balls in from the wings to him and that needs to be addressed.

1-4 is hard to take, but yestersay's match was a bit of a freak. Chelsea deserved to win, yes, but not by 1-4. I think a 2-1 win, or 3-1 at a stretch, would ahve been a fair reflection, as we matched Chelsea for most of the game. When Gerrard scored it looked like we would go on and win the game as we were on top. Damien Duff's goal came at the worst possible moment for us and the best time for Chelsea. Had we gone in 1-1 at half time we could have won the game. Our general play wasn't bad but we got punished for a few defence errors (in many other games you don't get punished) and we had no answer to Chelsea's world class defence. I'd put the game down to a bad day at the office. If we continue to misfire through October I'll get worried, but I'm not unduly worried at the moment.

One thing that annoyed me this week, however, was the talk from the Liverpool camp before the game, particularly from Luis Garcia and Fernando Morientes. If you open your mouth in England in the fashion they did you only give the opposition more fire in their bellies: something Garcia and Morientes need to understand.

On top of that, its not the Liverpool way to talk thrash before a game.
