Sad news - Liverpool legend dies

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Younger fans will know him more as a captain on the long-running BBC quiz show 'A Question of Sport'. With his V-neck woollen jumpers and squeaky voice he became a national institution.[quote]

I'm too young to remember him playing for the Pool, I was only one when we won the European Cup in '77.

But I'm aware of the immense contribution he made to Liverpool's glory days. Over 600 games, and numerous trophies, almost unheard of in todays football.

Hughes was also before my time but I grew up watching old re-runs on BBC showing his exploits.

Before my time too but I know he was my mums idol and that why I got dragged to the match to see him and I hated it, my mum was madly in luv with him :D He was a looker in his day tho he can have a tribute in the hunkzone :)
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Sad day for Liverpool FC.

If ever a player epitomised his manager on the pitch, then crazyhorse was "Shanks" in a Red shirt.

Never be forgotten! perfectly described by Supersub as a player. And off the field he was a star also, who remembers him winning his Gotcha award..and his laughs on Question of Sport. R.I.P Emlyn.

I remembered vividly watching and admiring the likes of Hughes, Neal, Tosh, Kev, Supersub, Thompson, Clemence among others as a kid, cementing my life long love for this club...all great servant to LFC. Hughes especially as he was the first captain who held the European Cup for us. Sad to see the passing of another legend of our proud club...

Devastating News for Liverpool FC.
I have hazy memories of 70's team when I was a nipper, watching the footy with me dad.  It wasn't until I got older and became aware of the history of the team, that I realised what a talisman he was.  I think he would have played for Liverpool / England for nothing - such was his passion.
My dad used to always go on about him, you know the cliche "if only some of the lads today had half of his passion" etc etc.

RIP CRAZY HORSE - GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
