Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

yeah, Souness was awful all of the time. He only won the FA cup because he had the side Daglish left him. During the summer after the cup win he sold them all.  :(

thats a big thing to say.

To be honest its quite disrespectful as well. We don’t deserve to be there at the moment, villa/spurs/arsenal deserve their places there on merit so far this season. There’s reassuring fans and then there’s being egotistical. That’s almost a jose mourinho thing to say.

 I don't think Rafa is as bad as Souness was mate. On a par with Houllier and Evans probably, but not as bad as Souness.

I think that might have been said more to reassure the owners rather than the fans mate.

I read some stats posted by Owzat, if I'm not mistaken we are 2 points better with the same number of games played compared to Souness'.

rafa should be sacked before christmas.

since he has been here regardless of net spend he has spent over 200 million, he has won nothing for 4 years. The squad that he has now assembled since parry left is rubbish. he had limited funds this summer and spent it all on a Rb and a player who cant play for 3 months. He has poor formations, substitutions and tactics. he has given us our worst run in 50 years, 3 wins in 15 games, some call it a rant some call it clever but which ever way you look at it we were rubbish after it. He had an argument with his bosses, which tbh if that had been me i'd have been sacked, at the time it would of been ok if we could back it up with results, but he had won nothing for 2 years. the season we won the CL with Gh's team we finished 5th. as it stands we have picked up less points than hull and lost more games than stoke..talk about relegation form. alonso left because of him, and not because he tried to sign barry, imo it goes further back to when liverpool were about to play in italy and xabi's wife was having their first child and rafa wouldnt let him go, i dont care what you do for a living or how much your paid, family will ALWAYS come first, imo thats were the fallout started, and now he has come out and said he can guarantee we will finish 4th, i would love to know how he knows this, considering we are 5 points behind and cant buy a win.

i could go on and on but that will do for now.

That is simply not on.

chavski did exactly that last season and that "saved" them to a certain extent...well at least they qualifiy for CL spot....

almost all premiership managers, pundits and experts did not favour the decision at that point of time ...

they gambled and it paid off very nicely....

what would have happened to them if they still hang on to scolari at that time?

I do not want to ask myself 4 months from now "If only we could have let rafa go, we probably could have saved the season..."

not saying I accept that reasoning, but if I did, it would not make any difference.

This is Liverpool, not chelsea.

So why can't LFC sack a manager mid season?

Do we have to sacrifice a season for some nobility?

Because since when should we take examples from other clubs?

While we're at it, let's all go to games dressed as Batman and Robin, wear jester hats, and pull out the prawn sandwiches during games. Everyone should go to the official store before the game and buy a disposable plastic flag to wave about too.

What has any of this got to do with whether Benitez should be sacked?

Are you thick?

It's got a lot to do with him being sacked as Kenny is one of the names being thrown about like he'd be the second comming, no pun intended.

birmingham are 2-0 up now, this will make them 3 points ahead of liverpool, if i had said to you at start of season birmingham will be above in middle of december you would have been thinking, i cant see b/ham being like 2nd or 3rd.
