so what if he is arrogant? the same fans here who were applauding SOS's attack on the owners' cars are saying he is arrogant? wasn't Shankly arrogant too or was it considered witty back then? put it this way, the only reason why you people cannot stand him is because he got on your nerves as he was a manager for our rivals. if he was managing us and were to tell the everton fans to "shhh" you people will be wetting yourselves. and just because it is your assumption that he cannot manage a club without money doesn't mean he truly can't. sure the next thing will be comments about how he is a media whore. but look, putting most of the attention on himself takes alot of pressure off the players and that is very good man management to me. rafa? oh yeah we created chances   pathetic.

Allow me to ask a simple question, can any decent manager (Rafa's equivalent/lower in terms of achievement) be able to achieve better than 3 wins out of 15 games?

I say a firm yes.

Should any decent manager be able to do better than EIGHT defeats in the last 15 given the resources? That is a DEFINITE yes. He can point or allude to injuries, of which there are serious doubts over the number and length of absence, but the bottom line is can he not avoid defeat with players like Reina, Carra, Benayoun, Kuyt, Johnson, Skrtel, Mascherano, Lucas and N'Gog in the side? How did Wolves go to spudz at the weekend and win where we had lost? How did the bitters with their ACTUAL injury crisis get a draw at SB where we lost 0-2? Could it be their managers actually manager their resources, have a set of gameplans and react to the game as it progresses rather than have a ropey plan A, no plan B, no intention of changing players before the 63rd minute and then blame anything but themselves?!?!?

We're now down to seriously bad territory, three wins against eight defeats in the last 15 games, laughing stocks five points behind the CL spots and 13 points behind the league leaders, lost TWICE as many games by xmas as we lost all last season, lost FOUR times at home already against sides we'd expect to beat and are scoring at a paltry goal a game over those last 15 games - only pompey aren't scoring at a goal a game in the league just to give that some perspective (Wolves and Stoke scoring exactly a goal per game) Surely our squad is better than those three sides and can score more than that? Or perhaps the truth is they have striker options and managers who can make most of what they have which is a lot less than we do, while our's makes least of what he has and hamstrings himself with his signings, tactics and substitution policies.

Read the Hicks thread , were Ciggy put up an official post from one of the lads on the commitee of SOS. maybe your idea of attacked and our idea of attacked is different, was his car smashed up no , did any of them get hurt no, Sos blocked the gates and the bizzies turned the car around , simple, no attacking going on there

i didnt read it but i know in the Arsenal thread, one of the posters was going on about criminal damage hence i was under the impression that there was actually some physical damage done.

bottom line is, the results speak for themselves, we have taken several steps back.

lost more games than stoke, equal on points with birmingham, and 5 points behind villa

we seem to be in freefall

any other manager would be sacked now, why should rafa be immune

we are in danger of returning to the souness era of results

we have a team of a few talented individuals, no depth, with no team cohesion - we are unable to finish a team off, and we concede quickly. we look like portsmouth, ffs

regardless if you love rafa, want his kids or whatever, the time has come to replace. we have reached our pinnacle with him, and we seem to a reached the top with it, now we are on the slippery slope downwards.

i will say thanks for the 2005 cl win, but we need to win the EPL, it aint happening so see ya mate

He plainly cannot motivate the team to perform, never mind outperform their individual limitations.
There's widescale malaise at the club and it should be cut away. Alonso wanted away because of Rafa and his lack of man-management skills. Not once did we hear Rafa profess to want to keep him there. Masch is looking the same. I can see Torres doing the same. And Gerrard lamenting the fact he didn't move a couple of seasons ago when he had the chance. Carragher looking like he is just playing down the days till he stops playing....
Not a pair of balls between the lot of them on the pitch. It's a phuckin' disgrace. Right now, I can't say there's a single player who deserves to be wearing that shirt. Nor does Rafa deserve that badge...

Three wins in 15 - bitters, mancs, Debrecen
Eight defeats in 15 - Beachball, Fiorentina x2, Lyon, Chelsea, Arsenal x2 and Fulham.

Of the eight defeats we would have hoped to have at least avoided defeat in the home games (x3) and possibly SOL and CC away. Given the position of the bitters and Debrecen the only truly impressive result was against the mancs, even if beating the bitters is always good.

For me there is only one manager who can win leagues and reach European Cup finals without spending £20m+ on players and we faced his side yesterday. He's won two doubles in face of the mancs' superiour spending, rebuilt the side at least three times and finishes top 3-4 consistently even with other sides spending more. Rafa spent over twice what Wenger has since Rafa arrived, spending roughly what Johnson cost as an average seasonal spend.

fergie has more trophies, so too has Josie (just about), but they'd be seriously exposed if put in charge at Arsenal with other sides having much bigger budgets than them (for a change)
