I'd have his ticket like, I'd cheer the boys on
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

If the fans in the stands actually sing for longer than 20 mins we may win tonight. All i expect though is 5 mins at the start of cheering then you'll probably be able to hear the ruffle of a paper and the odd burp. The fans need to go frikin ape like a utd clash. Every throw-in/corner spurs take scream in their faces, put them off, shout them back down south and scream them off the pitch.

I just think that after all these years and money Benitez spent, that once SG (who was here anyway)and Torres out, our team isn't much good. Our "wingers" Babbel and Kuyt were original centre forwards, cost about 23m, played out of position and now we've no real back up centre forward. Keane was bought and sold - at a 10m loss in a few months, Benitez drove Alonso out and replaced him with a player with a terrible injury record (why sign a player for a fortune when he has such a bad record)

We've won 10 league games all season , in 7th place  and a point above Birmingham FFS.

I just don't get Benitez.

If its possible to take emotions out of it and look at it impartially.
Season by season under Rafa:
2005 Champions League final. 3-0 down at half time. Forced to make early substitutions. The miracle of six minutes of madness from Milan and superhuman defending kept the game alive. Couldnt win in normal time. Couldnt win in extra time. Scraped a win on penalties

2006 FA cup final. 2-1 down against  the weaker West Ham until the last minute of normal time. Equalised with last gasp wonder goal from Gerrard. Couldnt win in normal time. Couldnt win in extra time. Scraped a win on penalties

2007 Champions League final. Didnt play strongest team from the beginning . 2-1 own at the end of normal time. Couldnt win in normal time. Couldnt force extra time. Lost

Thats about the size of it.
Tactical genius or jammy tw@t who was found out in Athens?
You decide...

From BBC Sport:

News just in: opinion in Liverpool still seems to be in favour of beleaguered boss Rafa Benitez. In a poll of Reds fans conducted on the streets of the city by  journalism students from John Moores University,  more than half of the 355 fans questioned (53.24%) said they wanted Benitez to stay on as manager with only 35.21% calling for his head.

definitely the minority these pro Rafas :D

He was a great servant for the club and a great player but his alligences do not lay with LFC its no secret, the same with lawro and Jim Beglin.

I knew about Whelan's comments about Manure  - what do you mean about Lawro and Beglin ? Have they said similar ? Or is it just because they're bell-ends....?

Lawro hasn't had a kind word to say about  us for years. In fact, I can't remember him saying anything remotely decent about us. I'm not sure about him, really. He just doesn't show the passion that the likes of Hansen, Barnes, Aldo etc etc do. At least Hansen shows concern whenever the two are on MoTD. Lawro just couldn't be ar$ed. I'm not sure about Beglin either, but then again he wasn't exactly with us for that long, so I couldn't give a toss what he has to say.

Lawro tries to keep neutral as he thinks its what a tv pundit does, however, if you look at his predictions on the BBC website we would be top of the league if we got the results he predicted.

I just don't get Benitez.

You don't "get" him because you're using fake figures:

Kuyt - £9m.

Babel (that's BaBel) - £11.5m.

So that's £20.5m...

Keane - signed for £19m, of which we paid, I believe, £16m.

He re-signed for Tottenham for £15m, with the rest of our "debt" cancelled. (They have a few payments remaining on their deal.)

That is a probable loss of £1m, not £10m, numbnuts.

Aqualani - signed for £20m, of which we have paid £5m. The rest is incrimental, dependant on CL qualification, league/CL positioning, appearances, etc. It will take 4 years for us to pay Roma £20m, if we ever actually DO pay that amount.

Make that 11 league games, 4 points about Birmingham and joint 5th.  :eyebrow

Now stop chatting out of your bitter a*se, you b*tter a*se.
