It's a major turn off when you have just scored and when you look at Rafa and he's giving you the next instruction (probably to defend)....

that isn't anything new. Capelo doesn't jump up and down and neither do the majority of top flight mangers.

Spot on.

Agreed, in fact i think its one of his best qualities that he stays cool under pressure. Its embarrasing wathcing mangers celebrate with the players, like an older embarassing family member trying to mix with the kids at a birthday party, e.g Alex Ferguson.

So youd rather him stand there like a stalker whos been spotted, looking at his watch as if hes really interested in the time?
Or doing those little weird moves with his hands like kung fu panda?

in light of our dodgy defendin this season Im jus happy at least one person aint got his head in the clouds and has his mind on the next few minutes after we've scored. god knows we aint scored enuf, but he's also well aware we've let jus one or two too many in. its fine to show enthusiasm, passion, desire to win when u score - keepin ur feet on the ground (and those around you) is often jus as important.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

To a point, yes, you can blame bad luck. Compare this season with any other we have had. Under other managers you could argue against man management (same with rafa), signings made (same with rafa) but I think this season has got to be the worst for us as it is simply unbelivable the decisions and bad luck that have gone against us. We drew with stoke, but we could easily have won that. Once again the referee gave nothing for Liverpool. A penalty we should have had ended up with a booking against us instead. And once again, the decisions knocked the players for 6. Am I saying give him a new contract? no, what I am saying is yes, rafa is to blame for the negative tactics and the average players we have but I am also saying this season is unique in a bad way. I dont think we will ever have a season like this one again. So many things have gone against us its beyond ridiculous. Or should I have saved myself the hassle of explaining and jump on the "Its all rafas fault" bandwagon?

I think if they DO get rid of him it'll undermine the rest of an obviously appalling season. I can't see why the club would willingly inflict more self-harm...

We'll probably be stuck with the same squad unless the new guys sells some of the krap Benitez bought to raise money for proper players.

However, even with these krap players that Benitez bought, a new manager cannot do as shhit a job as Benitez.

Yeah - the gods are against us every match!

That's the logical conclusion.

He has made us as good as Stoke though and I think we'll stay up this year - what a job for about 5m a year. Well done Benitez.

We've failed to score more than one goal in FIFTEEN games out of 31, you trying to tell me that's down to "bad luck" and "decisions" ?!?!?! The squad isn't good enough, you could analyse all results ad infinitum but we shouldn't be depending on decisions going for us because sometimes they won't.

But you're still pinpointing luck when we had our fair share and more last season, you could write off this season as above average "bad luck" but then equally last season was above average "good luck" and so that still means we're very average.

And yes I do blame Rafa for a lot of Saturday, perhaps not quite as much as the odd decision which could have given us a boost, but he picked EIGHT defensive players and decided to try negating tactics rather than positivity. I subscribe to the school of thought "you make your own luck", anyone relying heavily on odd decisions like we got our way last season and maybe not so much this season isn't going to win the league. We've stuffed three sides all season, we've played more than that many poor sides. We've taken the lead in TEN of the 15 games we've scored only one goal in, losing FOUR of those. It isn't "bad luck" that we concede poor goals from set-pieces, it is poor marking (system) and poor mistakes, those are very much blamed right at Rafa's doorstep. Perhaps it was fate conspiring to make Kuyt miss late on, and talking of the Lucas penalty that wasn't, how many times have our players dived in the area and not a dicky bird in among your defence............................

I think we should give Rafa a new contract, one that runs until 31/01/2010  :D
