Benitez is an embarassment at the press conferences and after mach interviews. Not only does he show himself up but he really does bring down the football club with his unfunny and unprofessional approach.I wouldnt mind if he was doing a good job but to add insult to injury he has to act like a complete and utter c*ock in front of the nation and in the name of Liverpool Football Club. I thought it was really embarressing TBH Ciggy. He should just stick to making non controvercial comments or perhaps just telling it like it is, when he tries to be funny it just backfires and makes him look foolish.

But I understood why he done it, them reporters speak to him like he's a child they try to intimidate him all the time, when he is in them press conferences he must feel like the lonelist person in the world, because Id say apart from the liverpool fan based journos none of them like him, and they have had it in for him since he arrived.

They just cannot take to him for some reason or other. (Rafa as a person and not Rafa the manager I mean).

Rafa’s poor communication with both the media and his players is one of his biggest downfalls. Whether you like it or not, it is part of the job of a modern day manager to talk to the media and he doesn’t come across very well with his cagey, repetitive and cold answers.

The role of the modern day football manager is far reaching and if he wants control over the youth policy, transfer, etc, he has to take everything else that comes with the role. Managers don’t make the rules but if they want to succeed they must play the game.

I don't give a $hit when how or where zenden was bought. All that matters is that.......benitez gets rid of murphy because he didn't think he was good enough..... But then has no problem bringing in mediore players like zenden in the following years.....

No he didn't Lando. If you read Carra's book or any of the articles from the time, Murphy was TOLD he was no longer wanted and that he would be sold if he agreed. Murphy was upset and reluctantly agreed (something he quickly regretted)

The reason that was given was that Rafa wanted to break up what he considered an "English" clique at Liverpool. Murphy/Gerrard/Carra/Owen/Hamann/Riise/Hyypia . From Carra's book it appears that the problem wasn't the "English" clique but a French one Diouf/Diao/Cheyrou/Le Tallec/Pongole that sat at a seperate table and didn't try to mix.

Has it also ever dawned on you that SG has had to revert back to dropping deep to pick the ball up now that Lucas has been entrusted by the manager with this vital role?
Alonso exelled at his role because Masch did at his.
ITS a team game! and ITS the managers job to get the best out of the players by gelling them together as a team.
So when he replaces a class act with a very limited one only a fool would expect it to be buisness as usual.
Also dont forget that Torres is injury prone so we were desperate for another quality striker at the club.

Good article? This smells of bitterness... I really liked the guy for his free kick goals but I'm sorry Murphy, three big trophies? We won the cup treble but that was ONE big trophy, the FA Cup. We won 2 big trophies under Benitez, the Champions League and the FA Cup which will always outway the treble we won in 2001.

Exactly when did I say that UEFA cup means nothing? Let me reiterate, out of the 3 cups we won that year only the FA Cup could realistically be considered a big trophy. That is not to say that it wasn't a big achievement. However, winning the Champions League and the FA Cup far out weighs winning those 3 cups combined... I think you might find that Kenny took over half way through the season after KK and finished second that year. It went down hill after that.

Aqualani had already had the operation when he signed for us and was given a prognosis of being back in 1 month.
You can't blame the boss for not being a better doctor than one of the best in the World, you disgraceful maggot!

Riera, kuyt, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Insua and Benayoun all provided the Sg/Torres pairing with the ball - not just Alonso. The fact that Riera has been injured all season has had a massive effect on the team. Remember that he was one of the biggest reasons why we looked so balanced last term?
Of course you don't - because it would go against you campaign that Rafa has f*cked it all up...

Unless he's gone round Melwood tw*tting the players with a golf club, this situation is not his fault. He doesn't have the manc luxury of £30m Players gracing the bench - he doesn't have the luxury of spending that amount at all.

Even the scum would go into free-fall with a comparable injury list:

Torres - Rooney.
Gerrard - Carrick/Scholes of the past.
Riera - Giggs.
Johnson - whoever plays at rb.
Kelly - Brown/Neville.
Benayoun - Valencia.
Agger - Hair-lip Steve.


Now admittedly, they had their own mini injury crisis ealier this season, but like I said - they have the luxury of calling on £20-30m players to step in.

We don't, and you can prattle on all you want, but that is no-one's fault but the owners.

Our medical staff were involved before he had the op and as far as I can remember it was 4-6 weeks best scenario, a 20ml major gamble even for a club with money to burn and strikers to spare, never mind us!
Rierra; Rafa baffled more than a few when he went cold on him so he was fast becoming one of Rafas whipping boys.
ffs he sat on the bench while the best LB at the club played in his LM spot (while Insua got his usual drubbing)
And Alonso was pivitol in most moves whoever fed the strikers. he kept things moving with his vision.

Newcastle were 4th in the table when Dalglish took over, he got them to second by the end of that season. The following season he reached the final of the Fa cup, no mean achievment for a team like Newcastle, while also enjoying limited success in the CL (beating barca for example). The following season he was sacked after the first two games even though Newcastle were undefeated.

I think you will also find that when Dalglish joined Newcastle it was just before they floated the club on the stock market and he had to hurriedly sell a lot of their best players to make the club an attractive proposition to the stock market. He had to bring in a lot of free transfer players like Rush, Barnes, Pearce etc etc.

Newcastle were a good side and just got greedy for that extra bit of success, so greedy they didnt want to be patient for it. Sacking Kenny and Robson were both stupid decisions. Their fans always kept the CL mentality so when they kept slipping down the answer was to sack the manager everytime. They were the authors of the misfortune they're in. If either Kenny or Bobby were never sacked, they wouldnt be where they are IMO
