Because he is part of the club and its the way Liverpool Fans have always been - backing the players and manager through thick and thin - its another reason that used to tear us apart from other clubs .

Clubs like Newcastle etc are ones calling for managers head - Not the fans of Liverpool .

Disagree with the manager, yes. Even think he's not very good and wish for better. Even not like him as a person, you're entitled to do so. But don't ever say that our current manager is destroying our club. Benitez is a winner. He thinks nothing of winning and does his best for what is best for us, including numerous times sticking his neck out and exposing the rats that took over. If it wasn't for him, none of us would know how bad those two massive w@nkers really are.

I am completely convinced that as soon as we get rid of Rafa our fortunes will turn around and if we got rid of him now then 4th spot is still well within reach, if we wait too long then we are in serious trouble of being completely out of europe which will mean zero transfer budget and the start of a spiral downwards, we have to get rid of Rafa now, in my opinion it is every bit as important as getting new owners. How tempting to you guys think Liverpool is as an investment right now??

Maybe by getting in a manager who will make damned sure they don't make those mistakes.

What's he gonna do? Sit in the dressing room with an Ak-47 and threaten to shoot them if they do make mistakes? Players aren't robots. The game of football is human, and if players didn't make mistakes, no goals would be scored. On other occasions, luck comes into it. We've currently got none of that stuff.

unfortunately football is different to any other profession. in any job, if you don't perform to your ability you more than likely get fired. in football, even if top players are performing poorly it's always themanager who faces the bullet. the modern day footballers get away with murder imo.

and as for judge saying we should get in more experienced players, what difference would that make? the likes of carragher and gerrard have been responsible for daft errors this season. is that rafa's fault aswell? does rafa make gerrard dive in and commit a ludicrous penalty against villa? ditto carragher against west ham? the players have to stand up an be counted. the manager can only do so much.

Ok so what is the manager responsible for then if it's not the performance of the players. You see i think it is very important for a manager to get the mindset of the players correct and to motivate them, that is every bit as important as tactics.

The question is ...... is he doing enough ?  We have won nothing for three years, only won one game in our last ten, out of the league already and our CL place is out of our hands.

Read the Rafa thread about negatives and positives and you will see plenty of people who support the manager give balanced posts and included neagtives in their .

Not one person on here as said Rafa is perfect and the worlds best manager and shouldnt be critisized - as i said elsewhere there is a difference between balanced posts with negatives points from people like Bigmick etc that can be debated and are full of valid points then their is the usual rubbish from people who just slate him and slag him off .

It’s crunch time in Liverpool’s bid to kick-start season

THESE are tough times at Anfield but it’s vital we remain positive and get behind Rafa Benitez and his players during a crucial week.

After a run of just one win in 10 games it’s easy to criticise, but the manager needs our support now more than ever.

Liverpool Football Club is famous for its loyalty. Our fans don’t slag off the boss and they are there for the players when they are most needed.

It’s a waste of time to be speculating about Benitez. The time to make an assessment is at the end of the season.

In May you have to ask whether we have made progress over the course of the season? Have we won a trophy? Have we finished in the top four?

If the answer is no then you have to look around and decide whether someone else could do any better.

I still believe Benitez will turn things around but there’s no question the next five days are absolutely massive with two ‘must-win’ games.

First up, it’s Debrecen in the Champions League tonight and no team talk should be needed.

The players know what they have to do and I hope we take the game to the Hungarians from the start.

We made hard work of beating them at Anfield earlier in the season but both Lyon and Fiorentina have shown they are vulnerable defensively.

Of course one eye will be on events in Florence tonight where we desperately need Lyon to do us a favour. They may have already qualified but I’m sure they will want to get a positive result to top the group.

If Liverpool win and Lyon avoid defeat then it would set up a grandstand finish on December 9. We could find ourselves going into the home clash with Fiorentina needing to win by three goals to make the last 16.

And if it comes down to that then I certainly wouldn’t back against us.

But all Liverpool can concern themselves with tonight is ensuring they do the business in Budapest. Whether we live to fight another day or face up to life in the Europa League, tomorrow we’ve got to start focusing on Sunday’s derby at Goodison.

A favour from Lyon and two morale-boosting wins this week would really get our season back on track. But any more slip-ups and we’ll have big problems.

BOTH Liverpool and Everton are struggling for form ahead of Sunday’s derby clash at Goodison.

The Blues are down in the dumps after a heavy defeat at Old Trafford and like Liverpool have had to contend with major injury problems.

But no matter what team they put out you can guarantee David Moyes’s side will give it everything against us.

With Chelsea 13 points ahead of the Reds, our priority now is finishing in the top four and we can’t afford to lose any more ground.

It’s absolutely vital we qualify for the Champions League and I believe when the injuries clear up we will achieve that.

But Everton would dearly love to throw another spanner in the works.

Liverpool’s luck has to turn soon

LIVERPOOL have been punished for their mistakes this season but luck also seems to have deserted them.

Rafa Benitez’s plans went out of the window on Saturday as he had to make two changes in the opening 20 minutes as Daniel Agger and then Ryan Babel were forced off.

There has been an unbelievable run of injuries and some of the club’s critics need to bear that in mind.

The side showed real character to come back from 2-1 down and once we equalised there was only one team in it.

They say over the course of a season luck evens itself out. If that’s the case Benitez can expect a large dose of good fortune very soon.

Hard work is key to solving Liverpool’s defensive problems

MANCHESTER City’s first goal at Anfield put Liverpool’s zonal marking back in the spotlight.

It was a poor goal to concede but it’s too easy to blame the system favoured by the boss. It has worked in previous years and it doesn’t suddenly become the wrong way of doing things.

The problem on Saturday was that nobody attacked the ball and Adebayor was given a free header.

What surprised me was that at the time Sotirios Kyrgiakos was on Carlos Tevez when he would have been better suited to marshalling Adebayor.

I thought that was Kyrgiakos’ best display since he joined the club. He was big, strong and won everything in the air. Up until the goal he had kept Adebayor very quiet.

Too often this season we’ve leaked soft goals and let teams back into games after we’ve gone ahead.

But as players you can’t afford to feel sorry for yourself, you just have to work even harder.
